This #GivingTuesday, Stop Hunger is flipping the script! The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation believes in giving back in the most meaningful ways. That’s why this year, instead of asking for donations, we’re granting out funds to empower Sodexo USA employees and their communities to #fighthunger where it matters most—locally. From food pantries to neighborhood meal programs, our employees know their communities’ needs better than anyone, and we’re proud to support your efforts to create a world where no one goes #hungry. Because giving isn’t just about money—it’s about #impact. Together, we're all working to stop hunger this holiday season! Please join us in congratulating the 27 Sodexo employees who are receiving Stop Hunger's first edition of our $2,500 Community Grant Award for their nonprofit organization of choice! Ending hunger one meal at a time!
About us
At Sodexo, it’s our belief all children deserve access to sufficient healthy food every day so they can learn, play, and thrive. That’s why, in 1996, we created our Stop Hunger initiative and, in 1999, launched the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, a not-for-profit organization. With a vision to be changemakers for a sustainable hunger-free world, we mobilize experts, innovators, volunteers, and donors to feed children in the U.S. today and advocate for policies that ensure no child is hungry again tomorrow. We're addressing the root causes of hunger by driving initiatives that help people respond, empower, and unite their communities.

You’ll also hear inspiring success stories from past scholarship recipients and advice for young #changemakers looking to make a difference in their communities. 🤝 If you know youth ages 5-25 who are working hard to combat the issue of hunger in their local community, please encourage them to #apply for this fantastic opportunity. Winners receive $10,000 for their #education AND a $5000 grant to award to their #nonprofit charity of choice! The Stephen J. Families now have more ways to get their kids the nutrition they need when school is out during the summer through SUN Programs: USDA's Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids. Nearly 30 million children participate in USDA’s school breakfast and lunch programs on an average school day. When school is out for summer, kids lose access to these healthy meals. This puts them at higher risk of hunger and makes it harder for them to get the nutrition they need to learn and grow. USDA now has more flexible strategies for providing kids with food and nutrition support so they can thrive in the summertime and beyond. We’re calling these enhanced offerings SUN Programs: USDA’s Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids and promoting them in 2024 with the “More Summer Smiles” campaign. USDA’s SUN programs offer convenient, flexible options to help kids reach their full potential through: 1. SUN Meals: Free meals and snacks are available to all kids 18 and under at schools, parks, and other eligible locations. No application needed! 2. SUN Meals To-Go: Meals are now available for pick up or delivered to your home in some rural communities. 3. SUN Bucks: A new grocery benefit that offers families $120 per eligible child in the summer. Visit the new SUN Programs website to learn more about these programs, and how your family can participate. And spread the word about SUN Programs so kids in your community can get the nutrition they need. TODAY is your last chance to register for our 2024 Campus Move Out Food Drive! The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation has teamed up for a third year with non-profit partner, Move For Hunger, to help campuses across the nation reduce food waste and help feed local community members in need. The process is quick and easy! After registering, a Move for Hunger team member will be in contact to send you FREE branded collection bags. Once received, ask students to fill them with unopened/nonperishable food items that would otherwise be thrown away at the end of the semester. If transportation assistance is needed, Move For Hunger will help secure a local moving company to help move the bags to a local food aid organization - for FREE!
