The answer is India. Looks like the majority got it right! Knowledge of the Fibonacci sequence was expressed as early as c. 450 BC–200 BC by Acharya Pingala, an ancient Indian poet and mathematician. Fibonacci referenced it over 1,000 years later in a manuscript from c. 1202.
Tomorrow is 1 1 2 3 – Fibonacci Day. A day to celebrate the sequence of numbers made up of numbers that are the sum the previous two numbers and begins 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13. Computer algorithms such as the Fibonacci search technique and the Fibonacci heap data structure use this concept named after Leonardo Fibonacci of Pisa in Italy. But do you know where the first recognition of this sequence was noted?
