We're one step closer to onshoring and decarbonizing the clean energy supply chain! ☀ We're pleased to announce our partnership with Genesis Alkali to source Wyoming-grown natural soda ash, an essential raw material that we will use to produce solar glass at our factory in Georgia. Today the vast majority of imported solar glass is made with synthetically produced soda ash. But naturally produced soda ash is 37% less greenhouse gas intensive than its synthetic alternative. Already we're on track to be one of the first solar glass producers in the US, and by using Genesis's natural materials we can go even further to lower carbon emissions of solar manufacturing and accelerate a solar supply chain in America. 🇺🇸 "Producing high-performance solar glass in Cedartown, Georgia will help America re-shore a key piece of the solar supply chain. It will also reduce trade risk, promote innovation, and help solar manufacturers looking to benefit from domestic content clean energy tax credits. Our agreement with Genesis Alkali is a key part of onshoring the supply chain to build solar in the US.” - Suvi Sharma, CEO and co-founder of SOLARCYCLE Jesse Simons Pablo Dias Robert Vinje Cody Mueller https://lnkd.in/g-5uutHx

It's been a busy few weeks in the energy world as we consider what the change of administration will mean for renewables — but I was glad to have the opportunity to visit DC this week to talk about the benefits of solar #PV and #recycling to those who attended the Texas State Society breakfast sponsored by our partner Ørsted. Thanks to Matthew Gough of SOLARCYCLE for taking a few questions I couldn't answer, to Barry Brown of Texas State Society for hosting and to Jessica Lawson for AV help — and special thanks to Hayes Framme and Rennie Meyers of Ørsted for inviting me out and being such great hosts.

Today we are excited to announce our 3rd and largest solar panel recycling facility, in partnership with #Georgia Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp The facility will be the largest in the US, capable of processing 10 million panels per year at full capacity. That’s enough to handle 25-30% of the US solar panels reaching end of life in 2030. The 255,000 sq ft facility will sit directly across from the land we have purchased from the Cedartown Development Authority, where we will soon begin construction on the first-of-its-kind solar glass factory at our Cedartown Georgia campus -- creating 1250+ family-sustaining jobs and investing more than $400M. This circular economy campus represents and advances our commitment to onshoring the #clean energy supply chain. With this announcement, we are thrilled to welcome Microsoft to our bench of strategic partners, including Fifth Wall, HG Ventures, Prologis Ventures, Closed Loop Partners, and Urban Innovation Fund. Thank you to our partners and customers for their support for this milestone and continued leadership making solar even more sustainable with SOLARCYCLE. Big news for domestic solar manufacturing this week: the U.S. Department of the Treasury confirmed that solar ingot and wafer production will qualify for the Section 48D ITC. ☀️ The decision will help onshore more of the US solar supply chain, creating good jobs and economic development as a result. We applaud the Treasury for taking this step and accelerating a circular economy for solar in America. Bloomberg on the ruling's impacts here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gNUUT3PJ This is the latest example of effective federal leadership in clean energy policy. Last week, Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder Jesse Simons discussed the success of the IRA, using SOLARCYCLE as a case study 👉 https://lnkd.in/geZjwhex

The Inflation Reduction Act is working: in less than two years it has created 150k family-sustaining jobs, generated $387B+ for the US economy, and scaled domestic solar panel production 8 👉 30 GW. Look no further than SOLARCYCLE for an example of the policy's impacts. From expanding our flagship advanced recycling operations in Texas to announcing America's first solar glass factory in Georgia, SOLARCYCLE is rapidly accelerating the circular solar economy with policy tailwinds. ☀ 🇺🇸 Our Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Jesse Simons discusses the value of effective federal clean energy policy for industry growth, domestic manufacturing, job creation, and the climate crisis in the latest from SOLARCYCLE: https://lnkd.in/geZjwhex

Director of Government Affairs Nicholas Cain, PhD joined SOLARCYCLE partner Martin Pochtaruk, President of Heliene, onstage last week at Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA)’s Gateway to Solar conference to discuss the policy frameworks necessary to advance a circular, closed-loop solar economy. We thank MnSEIA and Heliene for their leadership advancing PV recycling and domestic solar manufacturing!
Minnesota has become a top state for #solar #PV — and for thinking creatively about how to manage panels at end of life. So it was a pleasure for me to travel to Minneapolis to talk circularity with Martin Pochtaruk, Janette Freeman and Emilie O'Leary. Plus I got to walk around Lake Harriet in 70-degree weather, which I've been told is close to the year-round temperature 🙃 Thanks to Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA) for hosting and thanks to all who attended and asked great questions.

Today we’re announcing our partnership with Runergy Alabama Inc to supply ultra-low carbon glass from our cutting-edge solar glass factory in Cedartown Georgia, and to provide comprehensive recycling services for Runergy’s retired solar products. By both investing in upcycled solar glass and sustainably recycling end-of-life modules, Runergy is advancing our mission of building a circular solar supply chain. The partnership is part of continued momentum at our Cedartown solar glass factory, announced early this year. The factory is one of the first to produce specialized glass for crystalline-silicon PV in the U.S. Once complete, it will be able to produce 5-6 GW of solar glass every year, filling a critical gap in the country’s domestic solar supply chain. ☀ 🇺🇸 Read more about our partnership here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gKJugREQ Suvi Sharma Jesse Simons Pablo Dias Robert Vinje Lizzy Aldridge Cody Mueller Ryan Booth
