🌍 As we gather at #COP29, we have a crucial opportunity to focus on the unique challenges faced by vulnerable communities like those in Somalia. Timely and adequate funding is essential to support families before disasters strike, especially in a nation grappling with the dual threats of climate change and conflict. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) is leading the change, advocating for tailored financing solutions that address the specific needs of our communities, particularly for young women and girls who are disproportionately affected. 🤝 Additionally, Somali NGOs and civil society play a vital role in this journey. Their grassroots initiatives and on-the-ground insights ensure that resources are directed where they can make the most impact. By working together, we can push for climate financing that is fair, accessible, and responsive to the realities faced by our people.
