### Title: The Gratitude Journal You Didn't Know You Needed So, I started this gratitude journal thing because, well, I was told it would make me happier. I imagined myself scribbling profound thoughts like, “Today, I am grateful for the sun, shining brightly like my inner peace.” Spoiler alert: That’s not how it went down. Instead, here’s what really made it into my gratitude journal today. 1. **Coffee** Yes, it deserves a shout-out. That morning cup of liquid magic is the reason I’m even functioning like a semi-responsible adult. I don’t know what monks were sipping on when they found enlightenment, but I’m pretty sure it was espresso. 2. **Wi-Fi** I don’t care what the self-help books say about “unplugging” and “reconnecting with nature.” My Wi-Fi connection is stronger than my will to survive. The day it drops, I drop too. Thank you, internet gods, for not forcing me to interact with reality today. 3. **That One Sock That Didn’t Disappear in the Dryer** I swear my washing machine is a black hole. I put in pairs of socks, and they come out as singles, forever estranged from their counterparts. So today, when both socks came out of the dryer together, it felt like I had won the laundry lottery. Take that, sock gnomes! 4. **Google Maps** Do I even know how to read an actual map? Nope. But thanks to Google Maps, I can now say with confidence that I won’t end up in a cornfield during a 5-minute trip to the grocery store. That deserves a special mention in my journal because, without it, I’d still be lost somewhere in 2012. 5. **That One Person Who Held the Elevator** You know that split second when someone sees you running for the elevator, and they actually hit the “open door” button instead of pretending they didn’t see you?
