A week and a half ago, we had the incredible honor of presenting Spiritune at the Music Has Power® Symposium and Awards at The Times Center in NYC, hosted by the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function. This annual event, begun by Concetta Tomaino and Oliver Sacks, has been a hallmark of innovation and inspiration for over 25 years, showcasing the transformative role music plays in health, wellness and healthcare. The symposium brought together innovative minds in neuroscience, music therapy, and technology to explore how music can unlock new possibilities for mental, cognitive and physical health. It was a privilege to share Spiritune’s work on this stage, as our founder and CEO Jamie Pabst joined other leaders in the field who continue to push the boundaries of what music can achieve in healthcare. Spiritune’s mission has always been rooted in the belief that music isn’t just art—it’s medicine, and its ability to reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and enhance cognitive function is something we strive to make accessible to all. We’re proud to stand alongside a community that shares our vision of transforming lives through music, including our friends at MedRhythms, Inc. Brian Harris. Here’s to continuing this important work together—because music truly has the power to heal, inspire, unite us, and change the world. Thank you to Connie and the IMNF for the privilege to share our mission on this stellar stage. #musictherapy #musichaspower #mentalhealth #spiritune #innovation #musicmedicine #neuroscience

  • In case you missed it in our recent newsletter, we took a trip to the archives to dig up the rich history of music therapy—from using dance to treat “tarantism” (a form of hysteria caused by a tarantula bite, *naturally*) to giving soldiers instruments to cope with the traumas of combat. Our exploration ends with predictions for the future of this fascinating field. And spoiler alert: One of them might have been first proposed back in 1891. Read our complete guide to the past, present, and future of music therapy - and don't forget to share with a friend who might be curious! https://lnkd.in/ecVHbGdg

89% of people say music is essential to their wellbeing, so why not be intentional about using it? Spiritune is a new way to be mindful about how you’re feeling, and to use music to maintain or change that state of mind. Music therapy has been shown to naturally lower stress levels and improve performance. CEO Jamie Pabst and her team take a scientific approach to creating music. By leveraging clinically informed, evidence-based research in music therapy and neuroscience from leading institutions like NYU and Stanford, Spiritune has identified the specific musical characteristics that evoke certain emotions in the brain. Their scientific advisors and composers work together to deliver compositions optimized and adapted around those musical characteristics to create tracks that improve employee health and wellbeing. We’re excited to offer such a creative resource in the Beanstalk Benefits Suite. If you want a platform that can literally make people happier and less stressed, the Beanstalk Benefits Suite was built for you. • What an incredible time at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity!! Now that the French Riviera conversations have turned into remote Zoom follow-ups, we want to share a little bit about our unique experience at Cannes. Given Spiritune’s mission to create and deliver music for mental health, we typically frequent Healthcare conferences, but Cannes wasn't a conference, it was a celebration of creativity - without borders, boundaries or limits. Which is exactly what Spiritune shows up to do every day. We show up as musicians, technologists, scientists and business people that wear our creative hats to make therapeutic music and to solve for the ballooning mental health crisis. This festival was a deeply fulfilling experience that allowed us to connect with other creative-minded individuals and explore diverse perspectives across sectors in a new, unbridled way. In the realm of entrepreneurship, especially in a field as unique and evolving as mental health, being creative means embracing a mindset that sees beyond current limitations and imagines endless possibilities. It doesn't diminish business acumen, rather it enhances it - ensuring a balance of solid business strategies infused with the creative spirit necessary to innovate, think outside the box and consistently problem solve. While this might seem obvious to some, it's what made the experience of being immersed around people and companies that lead with an open, creative lens on doing things differently and thinking about problems and ideas in a new way all the more fulfilling at Cannes Lions this year. A big highlight was getting to meet our partners in the Frequencies of Peace lullaby project Babyshop that won 3 Lions last year (thanks to the creative talent of Federico Fanti and the FP7 McCann team) and the collaboration of our science advisory team at Spiritune), and then seeing how the theme of Health, Wellness and Social Impact carried through as a major theme this year. This joint project is a constant reminder of what amazing impact can be made when people and brands come together with a creative spirit. Some of the other big highlights were adventuring through all the programs and events, the epic hospitality at Spotify Beach House along with an amazing evening concert with a surprise performance by Martin Garrix. Lastly an enlightening lunch with Gary Vaynerchuk and Deepak Chopra MD (official) and the hospitality of the VaynerMedia team. Thank you Cannes for illuminating the power of creativity and bringing us all together to inspire and collaborate on building and shaping the future! Pushing for more companies and brands to collaborate with a creative lens on all that's possible this year. #canneslions #canneslions2024 #cannesfestivalofcreativity

Founder @ Spiritune - tackling mental health through music.

What a cool and appropriate place to discuss Music & Mental Health!! At a very vibey dance studio in the heart of East Village NYC, long known for its creative culture, birthplace of punk rock, home to artistic and literary movements, bohemian artists, Madonna, Blondie, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd and more, I had the opportunity to join All Raise for a conversation with Momo Bi of Watershed Ventures to delve into the profound connection between music and mental health, and give guests a guided Spiritune listening journey for a moment of pause in the midst of busy lives and bustling city stimuli. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this intentional gathering was a great way to connect as humans and create a space for connection, education and reflection. Thank you to the amazing women who rolled up their sleeves and made this event happen (Elise King of Human Ventures, Momo Bi of Watershed VC, Jennifer Kwan Mandelbaum of Halogen Ventures and the NYC All Raise team) and for amplifying diverse voices in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. As a female founder, I'm deeply committed to driving change and building a more equitable future for all. Everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality care when they need it. Awesome to meet many other incredible women that joined to listen, learn, connect and take action.
