Since 1947, the Spokane Home Builders Association has been committed to protecting and promoting the housing industry. Serving seven Eastern Washington counties, SHBA is over 700 members strong. We are professional home builders, architects, remodelers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sales & marketing professionals who believe every American deserves the opportunity of homeownership. As trusted professionals within our community, our members continue to lead the way in all areas of home construction, driving innovation, and giving back to our community with one common goal in mind: to make our community stronger by providing affordable, quality residential housing. The Spokane Home Builders Association advocates for public policies that promote responsible development and strengthens the small-business climate. We are a member-driven organization that promotes, protects, and educates in order to create attainable housing options for our community.

Steve Scranton, CFA shared with the Journal of Business that apartment vacancy rates are on the rise this year, primarily due to an increased supply of housing, with about 510 new units being brought online through the second quarter. But while multifamily vacancy rates typically benefit tenants as units become more affordable, even with an increased housing supply, there are underlying issues of affordability that remain obstacles for some renters. Access to affordable rental and homeownership is the foundation of a strong community. Spokane Home Builders Association is doing phenomenal work to strengthen our community by promoting, protecting, and educating to create attainable housing options.
