🦃 Giving Thanks on Golden Gate a Huge Success 🦃 “The great activity of our life is to love. I see God as one act – just loving – like the sun always shining.” – Father Alfred Boeddeker Yesterday, love was truly shining at our Giving Thanks on Golden Gate Block Party & Distribution! Despite the cloudy skies, the rain held off just in time for an incredible gathering on the Greenway to celebrate our beautifully diverse Tenderloin community. 💛 We were honored to welcome guests, volunteers, board members, donors, sponsors, elected officials, and special guests like San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Chief Bill Scott, San Francisco Fire Department Chief Sandy Tong, first responders, and even Lou Seal from the San Francisco Giants! 🎵 Highlights included: Live music from the De Marillac Academy Children’s Choir Holiday cheer with hot chocolate, cookies, hand-knit hats, scarves, blankets, and hygiene care kits for our guests 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to: Our Events Team – Erin, Janet, and Peter – for organizing such a joyful day Andre and the CSS Team for keeping the block welcoming and safe year-round Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi for her inspiring words, reminding us to fight for the dignity and worth of every individual in our community This festive day was a true testament to the love and generosity that makes our community so special.
