For 75 years, St. Anthony’s has been a place of dignity, respect, and care for the Tenderloin community 💙 now, with the Golden Gate Greenway, we’re continuing to bring even more joy to this space – connecting people with nature and community-driven activations. Lucien Sonder, Community Engagement Specialist at National Park Service, shares why this work matters and how NPS is helping us greenify the neighborhood 🌱🏙️ thank you, National Park Service, for your support!

Nick Kristof's opinion piece for The New York Times is one of the most honest call outs of what's not working and what may help those grappling with addiction. “The United States has lost more than one million people to overdoses since 2000 – more than the number of Americans lost in all wars in the past 150 years put together, including both World Wars…Yet neither Democrats nor Republicans have tackled the problem with the seriousness or nuance it deserves.” There is no one-size-fits-all solution. But at St. Anthony’s, we do know that providing a compassionate community coupled with evidence-based, integrated services equips our guests with the tools to reclaim their lives. Last night, we gathered with our corporate champions at NightLife at California Academy of Sciences to connect, share, and celebrate the impact of partnership. Over food, drinks, and great conversation, we heard from CEO Dr. Larry Kwan, Melissa Hersh from our STEPS program, and our Young Professionals Council about the ways St. Anthony’s is working to remove barriers and expand access to opportunity for our guests. Our corporate sponsors play a critical role in our work—whether through hiring our guests, volunteering, or providing critical funding. To everyone who joined us last night, thank you. Your partnership helps us walk alongside our guests at every stage of their journey toward renewal and stability. Last week we had the pleasure of joining the St. Anthony Foundation at their inaugural Tenderloin Employment Connections resource fair, where we met with over a hundred job seekers and signed up many of them on-the-spot for direct services. As our Learning and Development Manager Justin DeMartra said, "The Tenderloin Employment Connections event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community and share Goodwill’s services. The turnout and engagement exceeded expectations, and we’re excited about the potential impact this event will have on helping individuals re-enter the workforce." Thank you St. Anthony's for hosting such an impactful event in the heart of San Francisco and helping us reach more people in need of job training and career services.
