🔦Partner University Spotlight – Cardiff Metropolitan University🔦 Cardiff Metropolitan University is the third of our three wonderful Partner Universities with which we’re collaborating for the second year of our Programme. Giving us a stronger presence in Wales, Cardiff Met will be overseeing two of our exciting Host projects: Cardiff Council – With the rehousing of residents of the Channel View high-rise into a new estate, residents’ lives have been disrupted, and a strong sense of community has been fostered among these trying times. Cardiff Council is seeking a Story Fellow who can gather these stories and help build this community, presenting the outputs to the public. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board – While treatments and quality of life for people with cystic fibrosis are continuing to improve, more women living with the condition are considering having children. A Story Fellow is needed to investigate what sort of power the role of Story could play in supporting these women to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. These opportunities would be ideal for anybody with expertise in Story and experience in community-building or the medical care field. 🔦Partner University Spotlight – University of the Arts London🔦 Today we’re happy to spotlight University of the Arts London, one of our three wonderful Partner Universities for the second year of our Programme. UAL will be overseeing three of our exciting projects based in London: AKO Storytelling Institute – innovating perceptions at the intersection of storytelling and social change, UAL’s AKO Storytelling Institute is seeking a Story Fellow who can explore ways of working which foster cross-sector collaboration and enable effective social impact across arts, campaigning, and media. Nutkhut – for over two decades, Nutkhut has illuminated stories of the British South-Asian experience and would like a Story Fellow to act as an archivist, editor, and coach, illuminating their legacy of impact and looking ahead to their future. Sonic Screen Lab – housed within UAL, Sonic Screen Lab is an exciting project that that interrogates and innovates audio and visual storytelling which requires a Story expert to foster engagement through online and live events. Are you fascinated by the role that stories can play in ensuring dialogue between medics and patients, empowering people to make decisions about their own health? As therapies for cystic fibrosis (CF) advance, women and girls with CF are living longer and healthier lives and more are choosing to have children. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a Story Fellow to investigate whether stories can help support shared decision-making conversations. ✨ Host Feature – Cardiff Council✨ Are you an Early Career Researcher with an expertise in storytelling or Story analysis? Are you skilled in community engagement and interested in what makes us feel a sense of 'belonging'? Cardiff Council are looking for a Story Fellow to support residents of Channel View, Grangetown in Cardiff. The high-rise they have lived in for decades is being replaced by a brand-new development and, as part of this regeneration, they will be rehoused within an expanded community. This opportunity is to explore the role of stories in this transition, helping to build a strong foundation for a new community and maintaining social ties. This challenge needs a Story Fellow confident working with community groups and using stories to support change. Ideally, you’ll be a Welsh speaker and skilled in inclusive work with people who speak community languages. ✨ Host Feature – Tomorrow’s Warriors✨ Are you a recent PhD graduate with expertise in storytelling and an interest in music? Could you be the Story Fellow for Tomorrow’s Warriors? Tomorrow’s Warriors exists to nurture nascent jazz talent. They champion diversity and inclusion, holding a freeform space where young musicians can step into their swing, find the magic of music and reach their creative potential. A Story expert is needed to gather physical items (from flyers to films to records) and undertake interviews to compose a story from a range of disparate parts. You’ll not only arrange the archive material to produce a coherent physical collection but to shape a story that draws audiences and participants.
