As Student Achievement Partners prepares to close for the rest of the year, I wanted to send you all a message inspired by my daughter…… Happe Noo Yer!!   When she handed this card to me I cheered, YES!! Of course her block letters are adorable. But also all of these letters make perfect sense — she’s spelling out “Happy New Year” phonetically, and it’s such an important step on her reading and writing journey. I love seeing structured literacy impacting my own child. It’s a wonderful feeling to watch her see possibilities in language, to be able to sound out her words and communicate in a way that is new and exciting for her. Every child deserves this experience — literacy instruction that unlocks a world of possibility. Thank you to every person who is part of this work. I wish you all a peaceful holiday break and, of course, a very Happe Noo Yer!

We're thrilled to see our 'Rubric for Literature' leveraged as a resource for the recently announced Chan Zuckerberg Initiative work to ensure education tools that leverage AI are grounded in research and best practices for teaching and learning! Our 'Rubric for Literature' tool was used to evaluate the complexity of AI-generated text outputs and intended to help edtech developers support teachers in closing the gap in student reading skills. College admissions officers surveyed for a new report showed an acceptance of data science and statistics courses as valuable and necessary for student success in our data-driven world. Yet calculus remains the gold standard for college admissions, despite significant and persistent opportunity gaps for underserved students. When it comes to teacher diversity, it’s important to know where we've been and where we're going. The National Council on Teacher Quality’s (NCTQ) new dashboard acts as a rearview mirror showing trends in teacher diversity over time and a roadmap showing which prep programs are leading toward a more diverse workforce. https://lnkd.in/guJKh-sc
