SUAVE Eurocluster is a novel pioneering European project focused on boosting urban agriculture towards sustainable and resilient urban food systems. The project is targeting European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the aim to support them in European and international development for the green and digital future of urban food supply.SUAVE will benefit SMEs with different types of support services valued of 1,050 M EUR that include innovation vouchers, internationalization missions to USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as training for upskilling, networking and learning activities. Coordinated by VEGEPOLYS VALLEY from France and powered by four experienced agri-food and digital clusters from Spain (FEMAC), Hungary (INNOSKART), Poland (UNIMOS) and Lithuania (AgriFood Lithuania DIH), SUAVE represents a great opportunity to bring forward new key players with innovative solutions who will be able to share European know-how worldwide. #SUAVEwinners | Let's meet our awarded #SMEs, learn more about #SUAVE #GoodPractices! Part of the Les Cols Verts team went to discover emblematic places of urban agriculture and their actors, in Mexico. The trip was made possible thanks to the support of the European network #SUAVE, whose dedicated call for projects focused on the international expansion of European players in three partner countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. During the summer of 2024, two members of the Cols Verts team embarked on a study trip to discover urban agriculture in Mexico. Several testimonies from actors emerged. Their exploration focused more particularly on Mexico City, because the association was motivated by the lesser known nature of urban agriculture in this city. In Mexico City, a city with deep agricultural roots, eight actors shared their vision with them. From Paco Ayala, founder of Huerto Roma Verde, to Ayari Pasquier, researcher at UNAM, they were able to discover urban agriculture which is part of the preservation of ancestral traditions while responding to modern challenges. The projects encountered, often born from social emergencies, show that urban agriculture in Mexico is much more than a simple ecological tool: it is an engine of urban transformation, and like the development of the city, it is in out of sync with cities. 🌟 Exciting News from SUAVE! 🌟 On November 21st, we had the pleasure of participating in the Euroclusters Information Session, organized by #ACCIO – the Agency for Business Competitiveness, in Barcelona. This key initiative by the European Commission aims to boost the competitiveness of businesses, especially #SMEs 🏢💡 The event featured two highly insightful roundtables on best practices, focusing on lessons learned from successful Euroclusters 2021 projects: 🔹 Best Practices and Useful Tips: Highlighting the importance of setting realistic KPIs and organizing initial training sessions to ensure better project understanding. 🔹 Cascade Funding: Providing recommendations on managing funding flows and creating contingency plans for surplus resources. Elisabeth Molina Sánchez from Clúster FEMAC presented the SUAVE | Urban Agriculture project during the Cascade Funding roundtable. She offered practical advice and shared valuable insights gained from our experience with the project. 💬✨ A big thank you to ACCIO and all participants for making this session so enriching!
