Sunrise is the highest-volume provider of homeless services in Austin, with day center, outreach, hotline & housing.
About us
As the highest volume provider of homeless services in Austin-Travis County, Sunrise is the only agency with a fully integrated outreach plus day center model. Even though Austin has an advertised population of 3,000 unsheltered people, Sunrise serves over 5,500 unique individuals experiencing homelessness each year across their four programs, setting the standard for homelessness intake, assessment and integrated models of care. In addition to day center services, Sunrise also has street outreach teams across the city, a permanent supportive housing team and a first-of-its-kind homelessness hotline, all connected together to create better outcomes for clients. Over 1,000 Sunrise clients have obtained safe, supportive housing to date. Sunrise believes in whole-person care for the whole-person trauma of homelessness.

Sunrise’s new Neighbors Helping Neighbors Ambassadors are out in the area around our Hub location in South Austin every day cleaning up trash, asking folks to move along who might be in places they shouldn’t and keeping our area beautiful. Clients get a chance to make money and we get a chance to show our nearby park, bridges and businesses some love! This pilot is about 2 months old and making a big difference for everyone involved!
