Supply Chain OKI Jesse S. and Matt Earley the Superintendent of Williamsburg High School met this week to review the #MyCareerAspirations 2025/2026 High School Program initiative plans. This plan will help us grow our workforce in the region. Further, it will be accomplished by helping students 9-12th grades learn about jobs and careers in #construction #healthcare #manufacturing and #supplychain during the four years in high school. In addition, plans will include that teachers have an opportunity to learn about in-demand jobs and careers. Thus being in position to help students with their career choices. Our goal is to deploy this program first semester in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana High Schools. Also, I want to extend our thanks to Duke Energy Corporation J. Chad Shaffer, M.A. for his leadership and help with this initiative. Further, thanks to the Clermont County Collaborative team members listed below. This program will help students starting in 9th grade to begin learning about #jobs and #careers in #construction #healthcare #manufacturing and #supplychain. Further, by 12th grade student’s will better understand job and career opinions before they graduate. In addition, the program will help #teachers learn about #jobs #careers in these sectors. Thus, helping teachers learnings so they can be of more help to students. We are receiving amazing support for this program. This initiative warms your heart when you consider the possibilities this will provide students.

On November 21st, we were excited to support the Lloyd Memorial High School Career Fair! Supply Chain OKI participated along with several of our business partners - Legion Logistics, LLC, UPS, FedEx, Northern Kentucky University, Gateway Community & Technical College and Kroger Supply Chain. We were able to meet and discuss career opportunities with over 200 students from grades 7-12. Thanks to Dr. Mike Key (Principal) and Jen Bird (LMHS Counselor) for the invitation and to our partners for their strong participation on such a wintry day!

Our partner Learning Grove / NaviGo hosted a wonderful evening of fundraising, games, food, and dancing at their annual event; this year titled "Gala at the Grove". Learning Grove's CEO - Shannon Starkey-Taylor presented the 2024 Charity in Action awards to Chara Fisher Jackson (Executive Director/CEO Cincinnati Preschool Promise) and to Dr. Sarah Taylor Vanover (Policy & Research Director at Kentucky Youth Advocates). It was great to hear that in 2023, NaviGo has provided 1,860 work-based learning experiences to high school students and engaged 250 business partners! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share how the #Ohio #TechCred program can be utilized to maximize workforce potential through upskilling training opportunities.
