Thrilled to share that I recently presented my first poster at the Athens Conference on Advances in Chemistry ( #ACAC2024)! My research, titled "Antifungal Efficacy of SiO2@Ag/CeO2 core-shell nanoparticles against Aspergillus niger", dives into the use of innovative nanotechnology to combat fungal contamination, with impactful potential across various industries. I am grateful to be part of the SUPREME coating program, a European research initiative focused on sustainable antimicrobial technologies. This opportunity has been a major milestone in my Phd journey, offering invaluable insights and connections. 🧪 A huge thanks to my Postdoc mentor Dr Eleni Kollia and my supervisor Professor Vasilis Valdramidis for their constant guidance. I am excited to have participated in the 4th Athens Conference in Advanced Chemistry (ACAC 2024), where I presented with a poster our research project titled "Assessing the Antifungal Resistance of Silver Nanoparticles Against Aspergillus Niger Isogenic Mutants." This study, funded by the SUPREME coating program, investigates the potential of silver nanoparticles in combating fungal infections, specifically focusing on their effectiveness against Aspergillus Niger mutants. Our findings highlight the promising applications of nanotechnology in the fight against antimicrobial resistance, a growing global concern. I would like to thank my supervisors Dr Eleni Kollia and Prof. Vasilis Valdramidis. Also my colleague Christos Skertsos. It was an incredible opportunity to exchange ideas with experts in the field and learn from innovative research that is shaping the future of chemistry and biotechnology.
