Had the absolute honor/pleasure of visiting USS CARNEY yesterday and spending time with the CO! Truly special to be on that WARSHIP (in every way) and experiencing the absolute pride and warfighting prowess that permeates her deckplates! Would also like to thank Jeremy and his team for coming over to the schoolhouse and sharing their experiences, and lessons from the front lines, with my staff and students - truly a unique opportunity that will go a long way in making us better warfighters and professionals!

    Commodore, Commander Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN

Attention all current and former FDNF-J naval officers! This year marks the celebration of 50 years of continuous FDNF-J Strike/Battle Group operations. CTF-70, Destroyer Squadron Fifteen, and Carrier Air Wing Five all arrived in Yokosuka, Japan in 1973 onboard USS MIDWAY. This year also marks a turnover of FDNF-J carriers as USS RONALD REAGAN is relieved by USS GEORGE WASHINGTON. To celebrate these two events we are hosting a Hail and Farewell for the wardrooms on REAGAN and WASHINGTON as well as an FDNF-J wardroom/ready room reunion onboard MIDWAY from 6 pm to 10 pm on Monday, July 29th. So if you are in the San Diego area and ever sailed or flew as part of the FDNF-J team, served on MIDWAY, INDEPENDENCE, KITTY HAWK, GW, or REAGAN, or served with DESRON 15, CVW 5, or CTF-70, or you just want to share sea stores about SEVENTH Fleet ops, please join us. #surfacenavyassociation, #tailhookassociation

📢 Exciting News from the Surface Navy Association Tampa Bay! 🌊 We had an exceptional luncheon on June 7th, hosted by VADM Brad Cooper at CENTCOM Headquarters. The event brought together distinguished guests, including RADM Curt Renshaw, CAPT(ret) Jim McTigue, CAPT(ret) Bill Barns, and CAPT(ret) Dave Snee. Our discussion was both insightful and engaging, covering a range of topics from the latest surface actions in the Red Sea to the future of the Surface Navy. We also explored upcoming opportunities for the SNA in the greater Tampa Bay/Orlando area, ensuring our chapter continues to grow and strive. We are planning a larger event to bring surface warriors together in late summer, so stay tuned! A huge thank you to VADM Brad Cooper and his staff for their hospitality and to all attendees for their valuable contributions. Looking forward to more such enriching gatherings!
