Hello everyone! I am so thrilled to be named as a representative to the Tartan Week Committee! For those of you who come over from Scotland, I look forward to working with you to ensure the best Tartan Week yet. I've been attending the Tartan Day Parade for over 15 years, and would never have dreamed I would someday help plan and run it. Please get in touch if you plan to be in NYC for Tartan Week and I will help ensure you are plugged in. Also, I will be in Scotland in March and happy to find time to get together to chat about it in person over a wee dram...
Pleased to announce that I have just been appointed to the Board of National Tartan Day New York, along with my friend and Saint Andrew's Society colleague, internationally recognized environmentalist Lolita Jackson. Tartan Day is actually a huge, week-long, international celebration of Scotland and Scottish culture that includes a parade up 6th Avenue. A lot to do, but it should be fun!

“The underlying message is that the [US] government is looking to improve productivity, which will have a read-across to the energy sector […] the time for energy efficiency has arrived in the US.” Jonathan Maxwell, CEO of our investment manager, Sustainable Development Capital, LLP, spoke with Citywire’s Jamie Colvin following the announcement of our interim results earlier this week. We would like to thank Jamie for a fantastic interview, which you can read in full here: https://lnkd.in/ejJEk5Q3

The re-election of President Donald Trump has raised questions about the direction of climate policy in the US for at least the next four years. An often-overlooked story is the significant role U.S. cities are playing at the forefront of climate action. Lolita Jackson MBE FRSA MBE, Executive Director, Sustainable Cities at Sustainable Development Capital, LLP, discusses the significant opportunity to invest in climate initiatives at the city and state level, which often thrive independent of federal engagement, and how the efforts of local officials in the U.S. remain critical drivers of progress toward achieving global climate goals. One of the joys of my affiliation with Perry World House is meeting incredible people like this gentleman. Tulio Andrade is the lead climate negotiator for Brazil at COP, and is a wonderful and brilliant man, who agreed to speak at my class this past Monday. The ability to provide top notch speakers who are doing the work on the ground has given me great joy. He is a big fan of better incorporating cities on this level and it was great for my students to hear that affirmation. Plus I now have a new collaborator on how to further integrate the private sector in these international spheres - Tulio and I will be working together to cook some things up between now and COP30 in his home country. Stay tuned! C40 Cities SDCL ICLEI
