Elizabeth Wako, M.D., president and CEO of Swedish Health Services, exemplifies the strength and resilience of women in leadership. Dr. Wako's journey from registered nurse to leading one of the largest health systems in the Seattle area highlights both the trials and triumphs women face in leadership roles. Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance, empathy, and strategic vision. #WomenInLeadership #Empowerment
As women in the workforce, we juggle many responsibilities and challenges – balancing professional ambitions with personal commitments. Let's commit to nurturing our health and wellness, allowing ourselves the space to recharge and thrive. When we prioritize our well-being, we set a powerful example for our teams, demonstrating that self-care is integral to sustainable success. I recently sat down with long-time journalist Patti Payne to discuss how women in the workforce can put their health first. We also touch on my journey in health care, my time at Swedish, and the trials and benefits women face in leadership roles. 🎧Listen to the conversation: https://lnkd.in/g9SzryhU ▶️Tune in to more episodes of A Healthier Future: https://lnkd.in/gvZNmYq9 #women #leadership #health #wellbeing

Researchers are identifying more genetic markers for cancer, paving the way for better prevention and early detection opportunities for future generations. “The possibilities I see today I didn’t imagine would be possible in my lifetime,” Dr. Marianne Dubard-Gault says. “There’s a lot more we need to learn, yes, but I think in the next 25 years, we’ll be able to take control of some of these risks and take them out of the equation completely, so we don’t have to bear the burden of cancer as our ancestors have.” Learn more on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gCjDJ59J #CancerResearch #Genetics #WorldCancerDay #ProvidenceSwedish

A day of learning and inspiration at the Storm Academy! Last weekend, we partnered with Seattle Storm to host local nonprofit Rise Above at our Cherry Hill campus. Providence Swedish caregivers demonstrated ultrasound equipment and shared all about their clinical and non-clinical roles, educating students about diverse career opportunities in health care. Students also heard from Storm General Manager Talisa Rhea and learned how to take care of their mental health. Special thanks to all our participating caregivers, Seattle Storm and Rise Above for making this event a success! #FutureLeaders #CommunityImpact #HealthcareCareers
