    here's why I don't take pure lead gen companies seriously anymore - you know, those companies that cold email you and say: "we can get you X leads"  "first 100 leads free"  "only $0.28 per contact minimum 200 contacts"  etc. it is 2025 marketing starts and ends with customers (huge reason why I changed my show name and premise) We’ve been running the wrong playbook for marketing and growth for too long. And that’s causing some big problems: - Slow growth - frustrated sales teams - Confused prospects - Confused employees We’ve been so focused on net new, that we forgot to cater our marketing approach and strategy around our customer superfans. As AI tools continue to amaze us, at the same time there's this missing piece - of connecting with people. specifically, the people that we should care about the most (in business) our customers. it was always the case that we needed to be close and connected but we've lost our way. you don't need a lead gen company to get you 100 leads, you need to talk to 5-10 customers 45 minutes spend the time to truly understand why was it that they specifically chose you over status quo or a competitor not the bs reasons like "faster" or "better" or "drive ROI" or "easier" etc. Joseph D.
