We had the honor of hosting Sebastião van Uden, CEO and Co-Founder of Bac3Gel® Lda, a Portuguese startup which has developed a technology to produce artificial #mucus that mimics the characteristics of different body environments - such as the gut, lungs, stomach, and vagina -in both healthy and pathological conditions. 🦠 This technology enables precise #modeling of #microbial ecosystems and allows researchers to study the impact of therapeutic molecules on complex bacteria communities. What sets Bac3Gel® Lda apart is its ability to combine scientific accuracy with practical application, offering compatibility with high-throughput systems and advanced testing methods. These stories not only fuel our funded startups with entrepreneurial journey skills and tips but also showcase the incredible impact of innovation on people's lives. One of the sessions was delivered by Endre Hunnyadi representing dotLumen on a mission to empower the lives of #blind individuals with the help of Pedestrian Autonomous Driving AI technology. 👉 Did you know there are 43 million blind people worldwide, yet the most widely used mobility aids remain the walking cane and the guide dog? 🦮 While #GuideDogs are life-changing, their adoption is limited to just 28,000 individuals due to the challenges of care and availability.
