⚡ Alum in Action! ⚡ TFA alum Clare Newman’s career journey is nothing short of inspiring. This interview features her insights as the President and CEO of the Trust for Governors Island. 💭 Reflecting on her early career, she shares: "After I graduated, I did Teach For America in rural Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. This was the literal opposite of New York City — everything was built along highways, and my students hung out in a Walmart parking lot." Newman discusses her path from working at the New York City Economic Development Corporation to leading efforts to transform Governors Island into a hub for climate education and innovation. She also reflects on the importance of mentorship, particularly for women in a male-dominated field like real estate development, and encourages young professionals to embrace bold ideas in their careers. 📖 Learn more about Clare’s journey and leadership here! https://bit.ly/3Q5X1FB
