Today, on National Girls & Women in Sports Day, we’re proud to introduce Level the Playing Field—a movement dedicated to ensuring women in sports can compete, thrive, and plan their futures on their own terms. Being an athlete requires unmatched ambition, focus, and drive—but for too many women, the pursuit of excellence comes at the cost of their future fertility. It’s time to change that. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the incredible team at &Mother to shine a light on fertility freedom for women in sports and expose the barriers that make balancing a career and family-building aspirations so difficult for female athletes. Over the past few weeks, we surveyed hundreds of female athletes across 18 sports and all levels of competition to better understand their experiences with fertility, family planning, and career longevity. The insights we’ve gathered are eye-opening—and they make it clear that change can’t wait. 📢 How can you help? 📢 Today, we’re rallying athletes, teams, organizations, and advocates to spread the word. By simply sharing this campaign, YOU can help raise awareness and drive funding for non-profits working to break down these barriers for women in sports. Let’s build a future where women in sports—and all women—can thrive in every aspect of their lives. Let’s level the playing field. 🔗 Learn more and get involved at LevelThePlayingField.co #LevelThePlayingField #NGWSD #WomenInSports #FertilityFreedom

As a predominately female team, we are all longtime subscribers and avid Most Powerful Women Daily readers, so we were over the moon to hear Emma Hinchliffe would be sharing our $10M fundraise news and highlighting the amazing work of our powerhouse CEO, Kara Egan. Her passion and smarts has us building not only the first at-home cervical cancer screening device in the US, but it will be supported with a kit that is unmatched in the industry, technology support that informs and educates, clear communications, and a team of thoughtful medical providers ready to hop on a video call. It may soon be the first time women are doing this screening process on their own - privately and comfortably at home - but at no time will they feel alone in the process. #tealhealth #womenshealth #femtech #MPWDaily #femaleCEO
In a Fortune piece about 20 innovative breakthroughs in health to watch for in 2025, Fortune included Teal Health. https://lnkd.in/e_VnFeRb The company has indeed achieved a true innovation that is poised to solve one of women’s most unpleasant health care experiences: the annual Pap smear, which screens for cervical abnormalities. Teal Health will allow women to instead screen for cervical cancer at home using a device it calls the “Teal wand.” Rather than retrieving cervical cells, Teal’s process is a form of primary HPV screening that relies on vaginal cells—which means women can do it themselves. “We’re not all getting screened, or we’re getting screened, but it’s in a way that’s very uncomfortable, very invasive, very violating,” says Teal Health CEO and cofounder Kara Egan. It is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Help us share the importance of cervical cancer screening and we will donate to the American Cancer Society on your behalf! See details here (requires an Instagram account): https://bit.ly/4aaZ7ND The power to eliminate cervical cancer in the U.S. is in sight - but it requires everyone with a cervix to routinely screen. Today, fewer women are screening because the current experience can be challenging - an invasive exam that requires an in-person appointment. After extensive testing, the Teal Wand at-home screening device is under FDA review - the final step before it can be available. Together, with a more accessible and comfortable screening option, we have the power to eradicate cervical cancer. See the link above for how to help donate.

Thank you IDEO for being an incredible partner and for your continued support to spread awareness on this critical cancer screening.
Did you know? Cervical cancer was once the number one cancer killer of women in the U.S.—until the invention of the Pap smear in the 1940s. January is #CervicalCancerAwarenessMonth. Teal Health makes screening accessible and comfortable by making it easy to do from your home—no doctor's office required.
