  • ❌MYTH: Energy companies don’t care about conservation. ✅TRUTH: Many Texas energy companies are funding conservation, proving that industry + conservation can coexist🤝 But it doesn’t stop there! 💪In true Texan fashion, EOG Resources, NRG Energy, & Howard Energy Partners are rolling up their sleeves - making conservation tangible for their communities. ⬇️Here’s HOW: 🌌Howard Energy Partners, with #ConservationPartner Hill Country Alliance brought employees & their families together to experience the wonder of Texas’ dark skies firsthand. Opportunities like these inspire a deeper commitment to protecting our natural resources that impact wildlife, human health, and our shared connection to the natural world. 🌱EOG Resources funded a study facilitated by TxN, to provide industry with science-based data showing the value of investing in native vegetation restoration. This resource encourages industry to see the value in embedding conservation in their operations. 🍅NRG Energy collaborates with TxN on the NRG Dewey Prairie Garden—a reclaimed lignite mine turned thriving service garden. Through the efforts of local volunteers, the garden feeds 3,000 Texans with fresh produce while providing hands-on opportunities to connect with and care for nature. 🌀This ripple effect encourages EVERY business, EVERY Texan to participate in conservation!

  • What did the lactose-intolerant person say to the milk carton?🤔 You’ve got SOME GUT showing up here!🤨 All jokes aside, it’s #NationalMilkDay. Texas is now the 3rd largest dairy producer in the nation– a dairy queen🐄👑 if you will. How can farmers practice conservation to make sure our growth is sustainable? 🌱Rotational Grazing: Moving cattle between pastures to prevent overgrazing, allows regrowth, and improves soil health. 💧Efficient Irrigation Systems: Using drip irrigation or low-pressure sprinklers for crops to reduce water use. 🐝Pollinator Strips: Planting wildflowers near fields or pastures to support pollinators and improve forage crop yields. 🌾Constructed Wetlands: Using wetlands to filter and treat dairy wastewater before it re-enters natural waterways. ☀️Solar Panels: Installing solar panels on barn roofs or open spaces to power farm operations. • What makes your home a sweet one? 🏠♥️ 95% of Texas is privately owned. This means landowners are vital to a future rich in natural resources. Landowners can: 💧 Restore native plants to create reliable food sources and habitat while protecting groundwater. 🐗 Manage invasive species like feral hogs or non-native plants. ⭐ Work with a land trust to establish a conservation easement, permanently protecting the land from future development while retaining ownership. Our Business member, Texas Farm Credit supports the East Foundation and Witte Museum’s Land Stewardship Ambassadors program, which introduces high schoolers to concepts and careers in land management. Partnerships like these are perfect reasons to #ThankATxNBusinessMember for advancing conservation in Texas! If you’re ready to start your conservation legacy, we created a resource guide with everything you need to know to get started! 🌱Check it out here: https://bit.ly/3LfZXxG
