🏭 Reshaping Semiconductor Supply Chains: Can America create a regional competitive alternative to Asia's dominance in semiconductors? The semiconductor industry is at a turning point. With 75-80% of leading-edge to mature node chips still produced in Asia and 90% of all final assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP) done in Asia, the U.S. has been looking for solutions to diversify supply chains and strengthen regional semiconductor resilience. 🇲🇽 Mexico is emerging as a key regional partner for ATP —attracting investments from major semiconductor firms like Texas Instruments, Micron, and Wolfspeed. Its proximity to the U.S., advanced manufacturing expertise, and integrated supply chain make it a logical partner. However, infrastructure, workforce development, and global trade policies will determine whether Mexico and other regional players can compete with well-established OSAT firms in Asia. 💡 Innovation and strategic partnerships will be critical. Collaboration between industry leaders, universities, and policymakers—both in North America and beyond—will help drive process improvements and next-gen ATP technologies. 📉 But uncertainty looms.
