  • We often say this is the Worst Club with the Best Members — and we mean it wholeheartedly. We gathered community members and asked them to candidly share what The Breasties means to them. Through their words, the power of community resonated deeply, showcasing the magic that happens when Breasties come together. Community is the heartbeat of The Breasties. Time and time again the community shows up in powerful ways; leading virtual meetups, creating inclusive spaces for underrepresented groups, championing advocacy efforts, welcoming each other at Camp Breastie, and supporting one another in countless forms. In honor of Giving Tuesday, the community is rallying together to raise funds to support 2025 programming in collaboration with the End of Year Giving Committee. When The Breasties was founded in 2018, we had a gut feeling that it would be a space built for the community, by the community. We could never have imagined just how deeply that vision would come to life, and shape everything we do. Thank you for inspiring this vision and for making it possible every single day. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up, sharing your stories, and reminding us all of the power of community. This video is in memory of the beautiful and impactful life of Brenda Rodriguez.   Video by @elefante.creative Give now: https://lnkd.in/d2VGESeU

This is the 5th year of our Bobbie Breastie program that we created hand in hand with The Breasties and we could not be more thrilled to welcome this next class 🙌 But before we meet the future crew, we asked to hear from some of our past Breasties and this is what they said ☝️ They shared their stories of survival, their thriving Bobbie babies, and what this program has meant for them and their families. Did you know that previvors, survivors, and thrivers of breast and gynecologic cancer receive a free pump under insurance, but no infant formula or donor milk? UM WHAT. In partnership with The Breasties, we had to do something about that. The Bobbie Breastie program supports previvors and survivors of breast and gynecologic cancers with a free year of Bobbie formula. This is made possible by every customer who has purchased Bobbie whether it’s online or in store. Your support of Bobbie has created a village of support for these Breasties 🫂 If you or someone you know have been impacted by breast or gynecologic cancer, apply to become a Bobbie Breastie 💚 Applications are open until 10/4: https://lnkd.in/ecFYNmxS

  • Why The Alabama Supreme Court Ruling on Embryos Matters for Those Impacted by Cancer On Friday, Feb. 16, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos created through assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are considered children and are therefore covered under the state’s Wrongful Death of a Minor Act. The decision came after couples whose embryos were accidentally destroyed filed lawsuits against the fertility clinic where they were being stored for wrongful death. While the lawsuits were initially dismissed by the county circuit court judge, the state supreme court ruled otherwise. In response to the ruling, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has put IVF treatments on pause as well as other fertility clinics. The Peak takes a deep dive into what the recent court decisions could mean for the breast and gynecologic cancer community — and what you can do about it.
