Thanksgiving at The Grossman Group is all about tradition and gratitude, originally inspired – nearly 25 years ago – by the legacy of Grandma Elsie, whom our CEO, David Grossman adopted as his grandmother. Each year, we celebrate Elsie’s tradition of bringing people together through her famous recipes, especially her Pumpkin Chiffon Pie. This year, we’re excited to share a new twist: Grandma Elsie’s Vegan Chocolate Pudding, crafted by our dear friends Brad Whitworth, SCMP, IABC Fellow and Peg Champion of “Grandma Elsie’s West Coast Test Kitchen.” You can read the story of Grandma Elsie, and get her new recipe and the original here: https://lnkd.in/eukkRqr4 As we celebrate another Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of how fortunate we are to work with clients and a team that truly embody Heart First Leadership. What are you thankful for this season? #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #HeartFirstLeadership

Kyle Dierking, Head of Client Service on our team has taken to LinkedIn to share some trends on how to manage change well today. Key lessons come from big brands like Boeing, Nike, and Starbucks. Check it out! #Change #ChangeManagement #Leadership
In a time when change is both rapid and constant, even giant brands like Boeing, Nike, and Starbucks are navigating the pressures of reinvention. Like many others, they’re working to recapture the qualities that once set them apart, rebuilding trust and confidence with their employees, customers, and investors. In my new article I explore their journeys and the lessons they offer for leaders and communicators in the thick of change today – and how to do it well. What would you add to the list? #ChangeManagement #Leadership #InternalCommunications #Change

Our team is still feeling the energy after attending last night’s Milestones in Mentoring Gala, hosted by The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations—a night we look forward to every year. It’s always such a pleasure to reconnect with peers and meet with the talented students shaping the future of our field. The future is in their hands—and it sure is bright! I’m also grateful to have been joined by a few leaders on my team, Kate Bushnell, Kyle Dierking, Jennifer Hirsch, and Kayla Ellsworth. Most importantly, congratulations to this year’s honorees and remarkable mentors: Ron Culp (The Bruce K. Berger Educator Award), Chuck Wallington, Ph.D. (The Betsy Plank Award), Teneshia J. Warner (The Agency Award), Tony Waller (The John “Jack” Koten Corporate Award), Leah Seay Anise (The Emerging Leader Award), and Jon Harris (The Legacy Award). Your impact is truly making our industry stronger. I’d also like to give a shout out to Plank’s rock star Emerging Leader Committee: Tamarra Thal, Gabby DiCarlo, Facundo Luque, Emma Gresser, M.A., Colin Wylie, Carolyn Lok, Alana Doyle, Sonny Franks Miller, Mirka A. Serrato, Andrew Cook, Sarah G. Dougherty, and Maret Montanari. They’re paving the way as mentors and shaping the next generation of leaders with their wisdom, counsel, and leadership. Thank you to the incredible Chair Joanne Bischmann and Vice Chair Grant Deady, and the Board of Advisors. Each year, you manage to make this event even more memorable. And a big thank you to Karla Gower, Pamela Harrell, Hannah Collier, Trinity Hunter, and everyone who worked so hard to bring the event to life. We’re grateful for all you do! #PlankCenter #Mentorship #PR #Chicago #EmergingLeaders #Mentors

Our very own Kyle Dierking rocked the stage at Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) #ICON2024 yesterday during his session on how to create a thriving culture when change and burnout is common. Did you know more than 75% of employees and 63% of managers report feeling burnt out or ambivalent? It’s a hot topic that generated a lively discussion among attendees. A few key takeaways: “The pace of change during the pandemic has created a hangover effect among employees. They’re burned out.” “Burnout is a blind spot with significant cost.” “Managers have a tremendous impact on employees’ ability to thrive.” “89% of managers say employees are thriving. Yet, just 24% of employees say they’re thriving.” “Thriving employees say their manager is invested in their success, care about them, and give them what they need to do their job well.” “Companies often have robust well-being resources, but they don’t get talked about.” “Managers hold the greatest power to move the needle. One way to start is by talking about well-being and do emotional check-ins with their team.” #PRSAICON #Wellbeing #ProfessionalDevelopment #Workplace
