This Giving Tuesday, we're excited to highlight our team's support of the SHU Discovery Science Center and Planetarium's annual Thankful Friday event. Our team helped local students create special gifts for their families, friends, and teachers. We're proud to support the Discovery Museum's mission to provide hands-on STEM experiences to local students, and we look forward to continuing our volunteer efforts in the future. #GivingTuesday #CommunitySupport #STEMEducation

In celebration of UI's 125th Anniversary, hear from Tom Cariglio, a 38-year veteran of UI who started in the meter reading department and now serves some of our largest industrial and municipal customers as a Key Accounts Manager. "There was always opportunity: opportunity to move, opportunity to learn," Tom says. "I really grew up here. I really did." Watch:

'Tis the season of giving! Our Internal Audit & Risk team recently partnered with Connecticut Foodshare to sort 9,100 pounds of food and pack over 7,000 meals. Incredible work, team! We are proud to support our community's fight against food insecurity and look forward to continuing our partnership with Connecticut Foodshare. This initiative also provides a fantastic opportunity for our colleagues to connect, build teamwork, and give back beyond the office.

We're making great strides with our "Right Tree, Right Place" initiative, donating trees across all 17 municipalities. Our goal is to plant the right species in the right locations, ensuring they thrive while avoiding interference with overhead and underground wires for safe, reliable service. A special shoutout to our partners in West Haven, where we recently planted two Eastern Redbuds at the corner of Savin and Church Streets, beautifying the West Haven Green. Together, we're growing greener, safer communities! For additional details on the program visit, https://lnkd.in/eDn5zM6J

Thank you to the Hispanic legislators, municipal officials, business executives, and nonprofit leaders who joined us for the inaugural Hispanic Energy Roundtable. We had an insightful discussion on key issues affecting our local Hispanic community, including energy, transportation, workforce development, and housing. As proud supporters of the Hispanic community, we are committed to strengthening our partnerships with local agencies and leaders to address these challenges. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to break down barriers and provide the resources and support our community needs to thrive.
This week we were honored to convene Connecticut’s first-ever energy-related Hispanic Roundtable. Together with National Hispanic Energy Council (NHEC), the event brought together 15 #Hispanic legislators, municipal officials, business executives, and nonprofit leaders to discuss #energy issues facing the Hispanic community. The roundtable was moderated by Julio Fuentes, Chair of the NHEC and Founder of the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, while Avangrid CEO Pedro Azagra provided the keynote remarks. “As a member of the Iberdrola Group, which is headquartered in Spain and includes subsidiaries in Mexico and Brazil, Avangrid is fully committed to supporting and partnering with the Hispanic and #Latino community here in the United States,” said Azagra.
