PTSD is a hard disease that plagues our Veterans and First Responders daily. Sometimes they Don't realize it affects them as bad as it does. More importantly it affects our families as well. At the core, Veterans and First Responders at times don't understand how to process all the emotions they are feeling. A lot of times they try using avoidance as a way to cope with their trauma. The Warfighters Mission's Computers for Heroes Program was designed to give the Warfighters a chance at life again. We build these custom computers and give them to our Warfighters who are struggling to leave the house due to PTSD. Our hope is that they will be able to attend our Peer Support or Ministry services online with the hope that it will get them to possibly attend in person. As we all know, a lot of things to include Dr. Appointments are now being held remotely online. This will at least afford them a little more freedom. The Warfighters Mission has some awesome updates to share! With the anniversary of 9/11 right around the corner, we are gearing up to officially launch all of our programs. ✨ Computers for Heroes Program: We will start accepting nominations for veterans and first responders battling with PTSD to receive a personal computer. This program is all about empowerment and giving our heroes a chance to attend our peer support or ministry online as well as give them a way to connect with others via online. Few groups have given more to this country than the ones we are supporting through this program. 🤝 Peer Support Program: All Veterans want is to be heard. We enable Veterans and First Responders to have a space to talk with fellow comrades who truly understand their one-of-a-kind pathways. In working with these Veterans and First Responders, we help them lift one another and find the collective strength that comes with being part of a community. 🎁 Christmas for Heroes: Our Christmas for Heroes program is designed to spread joy and hope to the people who serve or have served our country. We will be taking applications for this program every year starting September 11th. A little about us, The Warfighters Mission nurtures a vision derived from the ageless counsel of Luke 15:4-7. In that scripture, the Lord tells of a shepherd who values his flock so deeply that he takes it upon himself to go after just one lost lamb. Every lamb is precious, the shepherd seems to say; every lost one is worth whatever it takes to find it. The Warfighters Mission operates with that same sense of value: Every one of our veterans is a hero, and every hero is worth saving. We have various programs such as our Peer Support Program, Computers for Heroes Program, and our Christmas for Heroes Program. Currently we serve the state of Colorado and operate in Colorado Springs.
