I recently had the privilege of speaking to the University of Tampa Women in Law Organization, a wonderful group of undergraduate students who aspire to pursue a career in the law. I shared my undergraduate experiences, how I handled the transition to law school, and ultimately provided some advice about the law school experience. I am truly so grateful for this opportunity and am honored to become involved in an organization with such an inspiring mission. Thank you to the Women in Law for having me, and for introducing me to so many wonderful women who will one day be incredible lawyers!

Recently, I've been reflecting on how my journey aligns with a broader spiritual and societal shift towards empathy, inclusivity, and innovation. Being an INFJ, I resonate deeply with the traits of empathy, vision, and creativity. These qualities have guided me in advocating fiercely for my daughter's mental health and championing inclusive education. I believe that we are stepping into a future where these values are not just appreciated but essential. "Where there is no vision, the people perish." – Proverbs 29:18 In this time of collective awakening, I see so many women stepping into their power, bringing balance and compassion to our world. It's inspiring to witness and be a part of this movement. We are the lightworkers, the intuitive guides, and the advocates for a better tomorrow. "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." – Ephesians 4:32 As we move forward, let's continue to support each other, embrace our unique gifts, and work together to create a more inclusive and empathetic world. It’s my honor and privilege to serve with you and our fellow board members, and for what we will accomplish together for our Veterans and their Families, our Heroes.

It was more than twenty years after Lincoln began speaking publicly that he finally began to receive this kind of public reaction, beginning with his response to Stephen Douglas in 1854. He had always been an entertaining speaker, but he had not so deeply touched the hearts and minds of others that he influenced them to think and act differently. He achieved this profound influence later in life only after taking several years to reassess his integrity and character, twenty years after he began to be called “Honest Abe.” Like most of us would be, he had been encouraged by that praise and decided to run for state office in Illinois. But after he sponsored legislation that caused a deep recession, and broke off his engagement promise to Mary Todd, Lincoln refused to run for reelection and instead devoted years to increasing both his integrity and his expertise. Only after these quiet years of deep reflection and work on his character did he develop the moral clarity and logical reasoning reflected in his later speeches. Such compelling clarity and logic that that people called for him to lead a nation in crisis. Every word, decision and action has human, and thus moral implications. Only after we are wise enough to limit our speaking and action until we have achieved the exceptional moral clarity of Lincoln will our words and deeds touch and move the hearts of others. #leadership #humanresources #culture
