Imma say this louder for those of y’all in the back that are willfully hard of seeing and hearing: IF IT DON’T APPLY, JUST WALK ON BY. You see the title of this here page, if you can’t be bothered to do any other due diligence. If the title alone makes you scrunch up your face, roll your eyes, or think to yourself, “but what about…?,” walk on. This ain’t for you. Put all that wasted energy you’re chucking over here to post some subtle as a skunk in a perfume store “all lives matter” propaganda to better use. You ain’t clever and you ain’t fooling anyone. I’d suggest unlearning your very loud and conscious bias, but I know that is a lost cause. So might I propose yoga, Pilates or whatever your favorite pastime is?—other than trolling other people, obviously. Go do that nowhere else. You are the reason spaces like this absolutely have to exist. This space is first and foremost for Black women—*gasp* I know, right?—AND for all allies, advocates, supporters, defenders, protectors, and lovers of who we are and what we stand for. This place is inclusive of anyone who gets it and isn’t offended when Black women are centered, not to the exclusion of all others, but, you know, for once. If you can’t understand the difference, all I got for you is the GIF below. #iykyk #isaidwhatisaid #psa

Yesterday, I hit an exciting milestone! Someone I’ve never met personally donated to prioritize healing and restoration for Black women healthcare leaders. This let’s me know that the mission behind ‘A Time to Heal’ resonates beyond my circle of friends and family. (Many thanks to my Mama, family and day ones who rock with anything I do just because it’s me doing it. 🥰) Knowing this work is reaching others, and that there are people out there who want to see Black women leading from a healed and whole place, fuels my passion to create this space. My heart so full. 🙏🏾 Does this mission speak to you, too? I’d love your support. Whether it’s through a donation or by sharing the link. Every bit helps us bring this vision to life: [Link in Comments] Thank you to everyone cheering me on so far. Whether you: Shared a post or the GFM link Dropped me an encouraging note Made a donation Connected me with potential facilitators Or something in between. They all tell me “Keep going!” And I am beyond grateful💕 #liftingasweclimb2024 #healthcareleadership #womenleadership #blackwomenlead #hireblack

“The thing about generational trauma is that it doesn't just show up in the big moments. It's not always about the obvious scars or clear triggers. Sometimes it sneaks up on you while you're scrolling through Netflix, trying to pick a holiday movie. Sometimes it reveals itself in the quiet resistance to seeing your own people exist in spaces of pure peace.” —Nwanne Onwuzu, IKONI Collective

Sunday Reflection 💜 As I prep for a much needed vacation, this came across my field. Often it’s easier to say you’re “fine” and keep moving, but it’s more authentic and vulnerable to be real especially with those who stop to check on you. As Black women, we owe ourselves to not only be real to ourselves when we are feeling overwhelmed and carrying too much, but also to those that hold us in care. #SelfCare #vulnerability

Black women have literally written the book(s) on rest. Are you ready to take heed? In this week's newsletter, I'm featuring a roundup of some of my favorite books about rest, including Tricia Hersey, Octavia F. Raheem, Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, Amanda Miller Littlejohn and Tracee Stanley. Who would you add to the list? 📚 https://lnkd.in/gG7GVums
