With the new Society6 site launch now live, we asked Brit Tucker VP, Head of Product and eCommerce to share her thoughts about working with Pattern on this major initiative over the past year. Here's what she said: "Working with Pattern was truly a dream. We initially engaged them to lead the redesign for our website, but ended up with a thoughtful and strategic partnership that extended beyond just new UX/UI for our site. From the start, they led with research, using what background we were able to provide and expanding upon it to deliver a comprehensive research project with clearly defined problems and challenges, and strategic and meaningful design solutions. Every step of the project tied back to the research, including expanding our personas, refining our values, and layering in pulses of focus groups and user testing throughout the project." "Their process from start-to-finish is comprehensive and filled with an incredible amount of curiosity and empathy. Their team became a true extension of our own team over the duration of our work together. And, the end result embodies everything we set out to do at the start of our work with Pattern: design an aesthetically beautiful, elevated, and functional website to give our customers a delightful experience with every click." Over a year ago, we kicked off a partnership with the team at Society6. Society6 is one of the originators of the concept of artist-driven online marketplaces — it was created to give artists a place to sell their art, and to give customers access to the best designs. With an all-encompassing engagement that included user research, content strategy & strategic roadmapping, UX Design, UI Design and complex IA, intricate user flows, product configuration and even a new brand identity refresh, Pattern and Society6 worked hand in hand for over a year to rethink and reinvent the entire ecommerce and marketplace experience for both customers and artists. We couldn't be more proud of this partnership, which includes the incredible team at Society6, our top-tier technical partners at SDG, Algolia & Attentive, as well as our partnership with Shopify who's platform we pushed to the limits with this one. What is the difference between “brand” and “user experience”? These days, when done right, they are intertwined. At Pattern, we consider UX as much of a brand differentiator as visual design, voice or mission. If a customer does not feel engaged or “good” while shopping, then that hurts brand perception. Conversely, experiences that bring ease (DoorDash) or joy (TikTok), boost not just brand perception but also business results be it sales, engagement or loyalty. But how do we create a user experience that is so good it is a differentiator Keep reading to see how we do it: https://lnkd.in/g74HsUFZ

Some of our most interesting work in digital commerce has been inspired by an unexpected source: streetwear. That’s right. Not from technology advancements. Not from long held design principles. Not from business fundamentals. But from the authentic and individualistic spirit of streetwear. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gVqpT2AM
