Thrive Philanthropy is excited to introduce Dr. Dr Mpho Mary Hlalele, DVM, as member of the Africa Funding Steering Committee. Mpho is a philanthropy consultant with extensive experience in partnership development, resource mobilization, and donor engagement. She currently leads Philanthropy Partnerships for Eurogroup for Animals, a pan-European animal advocacy organization based in Belgium. Dr. Hlalele has spent several years in the South Africa animal welfare NGO sector, first as a Veterinarian and then as Manager of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League. She later became Head of Philanthropy at the Schmidt Family Office (SFO), supporting High Net Worth families with their philanthropic efforts for four years before moving to France. Additionally, she chairs the Management Committee of the Cart Horse Protection Association and serves on the advisory committee of the Coalition of African Animal Welfare Organisations. Thrive Philanthropy is excited to introduce Taylor Quinn (he/him), as member of the Africa Funding Steering Committee. Taylor is a social entrepreneur dedicated to designing and implementing nutritious low-cost plant-based food systems. He moved to Liberia in 2015 and used his background as a food anthropologist and social entrepreneur to build a Liberian-owned and operated business that produces nutritious low-cost delicious food targeting consumers living in extreme poverty. Since then, he's taken this nutritious low-cost plant-based food approach to work in 30 countries. He runs his social enterprise while working to scale food system transformation through partnerships with UNICEF, the UN World Food Programme WFP, the World Bank Development Economics Bank, Save the Children International, and Mercy Corps.
