The Tilt-Up Concrete Association was founded in 1986 by a dedicated group of contractors, professionals, and manufacturers with the interest of improving the quality and acceptance of Tilt-Up construction. The mission of the Tilt-Up Concrete Association is to expand and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method by providing education and resources that enhance quality and performance.

Can you believe these photos were taken 104 years apart? This church was constructed in 1910 by Robert H. Aiken, the inventor of Tilt-Up construction, for the Memorial United Methodist Church at 2935 Sheridan Road in Zion. The idea came to him in early 1907, Aiken introduced pre-cast concrete walls while building target walls at Camp Logan. These replaced wooden targets, preventing ordnance from reaching Lake Michigan, protecting boaters, and allowing lead to be recovered and reused. To learn more visit - Lake County History: Robert H.
