Which façade lighting option calls to you: A. B. or C.? Working on this project for a client. So incredibly grateful for the opportunity. Along with our typical deliverables for design lighting sheets and lighting submittals (creating a playbook for the installing contract to use), we also incorporate visual concepts for owner approval on select design services. We have partnered with a state of the art rendering software to generate visual concepts, that way you can really see the difference of something like "façade lighting design", vs. "wall packs to flood the front of the building". You can really create attention to your building in a beautiful way. Making it stand out to customers, drawing attention and showing off your investment. Keep it soft and subtle or make a statement. The choice is yours and the options are endless. Let a professional help create the master plan for achieving your desired look, or have us come up with the concepts for you. Either way, we love all things lighting design. Those of you that have a business or are in the area of design and construction know just how challenging it can be. In honor of 8 years of running TK as a side hustle to now full time and all the challenges, help, failures, success I decided to write about the journey. It was too long to put into a single post, so I had to put it in our blog (quick read). Along with a 15 minute video I recorded yesterday morning to send to a customer to show what our services are. Our services have come a long way from where they used to be that is for sure. And we are looking forward to what is on the horizon. Check out our blog and video update for the whole story and video: https://lnkd.in/gdQNDfsR

Now that people will be able to afford to do things again, I'm just going to leave this here. . . 😊 For those who are distraught, it will be ok. Try not to focus on the things you can't control, and just control your inner world and your own mindset. We can live together with drive, desire, compassion, and forgiveness all in one place. #light #lightingdesign #architecture #newconstruction #remodel #remote

I know this is a sensitive topic and might make others angry. But someone needs to push back and give the people back their strength. True strength is not power or constant protection. It is finding vulnerability, forgiveness, and compassion. What other might see as weakness, but when you look closely you can see that there is a strength found in those traits. I have read lots of self help books lately, and so many of them are oriented around healing your trauma and secure attachment and your inner child. . . the list goes on. Lots of excuses to not take accountability for the way you think, feel, and act today. But in those same books, they discuss how trauma is a real, or "perceived" threat. Meaning, just thinking you're in danger, the body doesn't know the difference, and that creates a blockage or trauma. Your therapist will have you believe that you are never supposed to be hurt, physically, emotionally, psychologically. And we must strive for building trust. But trust is something YOU have to create. Even if someone hurt you in the past, or the world was wrong, or you were wrong. . . you can choose trust. If you look back at the idea of "perceived" threat being trauma. . . in these same books they tell you that you need to heal your "inner child". Well if thinking something creates the same feeling as it actually happening, guess what you're going to feel when you think of yourself as a "wounded child". . . you're going to feel and act like a wounded child. If you picture "masculinity" as toxic, or "negativity" as toxic. . . . guess what, you're going to be afraid of men and anything negative. . . Especially if you put those two together in your mind. But if we have the courage to look at ourselves, the way we are thinking and feeling, learn from the past, and forgive. . . you realize that pain, and trauma, is right where the sweet spot is. Because if nothing bad or negative ever happens to you, it means you're sitting on the sidelines. Get off the bench and go play life. Take the word "trauma" and replace it with "life" and see how you feel. I hope you find your own strength this weekend and in the future! #trauma #strength #forgiveness #love #life
