At today’s Collierville Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Mayor Maureen Fraser shared more than just a “State of the Town” update. She shared the experiences that shaped her. From childhood lessons in resilience and hard work to her deep-rooted commitment to her family and community service, attendees got a glimpse into the values that drive her leadership. This speech was an opportunity to see a different side of our Mayor and understand what motivates her dedication to Collierville. She said "it's just in my DNA to serve" emphasizing that community involvement is about making a difference and giving back. It was a great afternoon of connection, community, and looking ahead to Collierville’s future. Thank you to the Chamber and everyone who filled the room at Collierville First Baptist Church today!

Collierville Fire & Rescue is pleased to announce the promotion of Chief of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Mark Carter, to the position of Assistant Chief of Fire Administration. Collierville’s Fire Chief John Selberg said that with the retirement of Assistant Chief Mark King, it was important to find someone who had the right skill set to be successful for the position. Mark Carter has shown an ability to handle a diverse set of duties, both technological and administrative. This includes the development of the Budget, which the department is currently tackling, as well as the oversight of various projects and human resource items. Carter has agreed to accept this new responsibility. Prior to his service in Collierville, Carter served as a firefighter/paramedic (1987-1991) and EMS Chief (1991-2018) for Germantown Fire. He also worked as Ambulance Sales Manager for G&W/EVS (9/2019 -12/2021), as an EMT Instructor at Southwest Community College (2011-2017), and as EMS Operation Manager for the Delta Fair. Carter’s experience with emergency medical services made him a perfect choice for the job of launching and managing Collierville’s own ambulance service in 2021. In his new role, Carter will handle many important duties critical to the Fire Department’s operations. “Mark Carter has extensive experience as a Fire Officer and is well respected by his peers across the State,” said Selberg. “He is always willing to take on extra roles and responsibilities to support the Fire Department in any way possible. He is a valuable member of our management team and his administrative experience will enable him to fill the role of Assistant Chief of Administration with limited interruptions to our operations. Please join me in congratulating Mark Carter as the new Assistant Chief of Administration.”
