Will @BrightlineWest whet the appetite of Americans for the convenience of high-speed passenger rail? The project will boast trains capable of reaching top speeds of more than 200mph – making it possible to travel from Las Vegas to Greater Los Angeles by rail in just over two hours, half the time it would take to drive. Brightline West is one of two high-speed rail projects currently under construction – but there’s at least five more in the pipeline. https://lnkd.in/e4Vgddwp #Tracsis #RailNews #PassengerRail

Since Japan launched the first bullet trains in 1964, High Speed Rail has revolutionized train travel in Europe and Asia. Is it time for the US to catch up? Read our new blog on the current state of #HighSpeedRail. https://lnkd.in/e4Vgddwp #Tracsis #RailTechnology

Has the time finally come for high-speed passenger rail networks in the US? While plans date back to the 1960s, countless proposals to link American cities by bullet trains have faltered. The @Amtrak Acela passenger service between Washington DC and Boston has long been the only service catering to US passengers who feel the need for speed, reaching up to 150mph on some sections of track, while the highly anticipated new generation Acela fleet will hit a top speed of 160mph. However, the challenges of attracting sufficient funding and proving long-term economic viability have put paid to other high-speed proposals. Until now. The start of construction on a high-speed passenger rail service between Las Vegas and Southern California has reignited national interest in fast trains. Read our new blog on the challenges and benefits of #HighSpeedRail – and find out about other projects in the pipeline. https://lnkd.in/e4Vgddwp #Tracsis #RailTechnology #PassengerRail

What a week we've had in Boston at the Commuter Rail Coalition Summit 2024. #railsolutions #railtechnology #softwaresolutions #futureofrail
Commuter Rail Coalition does it again - a brilliant start to the week in Boston at the CRC Summit. This is one of my favourite events of the busy conference season - the sessions are always insightful, the network strong and the tours and venues on point. The Cape Cod Central Railroad dining train was a particular highlight. The commuter railroads in the US, who are so geographically spread, have built a strong community to share challenges and solutions. I’m delighted that we get to contribute and play a part in that community.
