Tree Range Farms is dedicated to a truly regenerative and socially equitable poultry production system.

About us

Tree Range farms comes out of the lifetime work of Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin, a Guatemalan war survivor, farmer, immigrant, and Lifetime Ashoka Fellow. His efforts have centered on the design and buildout of a truly regenerative and socially equitable poultry production system that goes beyond “free range” and USDA Organic standards. Founded with three like-minded partners, Tree-Range Farms embodies that vision and carries it into the marketplace. Tree-Range chickens are raised by family farmers under a tree canopy in a diversified agroforestry system that builds soil health, sequesters carbon, and increases biodiversity. Beyond the ESG benefits, published research shows that chickens raised under trees taste better than both conventional and pasture-raised chickens, creating a unique competitive advantage for our products. We believe we have built a replicable, scalable, cost-competitive model that can replace 1 of the 20 chickens Americans consume every year when fully built out.

  • The Transformative Impact of Feed the People Farm Cooperative Tree-Range® Farms producers like Feed the People Farm Cooperative in Northfield, Minnesota have brought regenerative agricultural practices to their land. As a Tree-Range® Farms producer, they implement regenerative farming practices that enhance soil health and biodiversity. Chickens are raised in natural, stress-free environments which promotes optimal animal welfare, and also provides an enjoyable job for the farmers and farm workers. The Feed the People cooperative’s worker-owned farm model empowers the young people involved on the farm, emphasizing fair labor practices, providing meaningful employment, and democratic control by engaging workers and the community. The farm’s profits support grassroots organizing and education efforts, while their cooperative model demonstrates how sustainable farming can support social justice and community benefit while inspiring other farmers and businesses to adopt similar practices. • Supporting Regeneration: Make Your Food Choices Impactful The Organic Compound grew out of a small communal garden started by Wil and Carly Crombie and has expanded into a thriving farm and homestead centered around regenerative living. This farm has transformed 40 acres of previously conventionally farmed land, into a biodiverse landscape of over 20,000 trees, shrubs, animals, perennial plants and annual crops. As the first commercial-scale site for Tree-Range® Farms, Organic Compound has demonstrated the scalability of the PCRA system and is a great example of the power farmers and consumers have to positively impact the food system and their communities. Supporting Tree-Range® Farms extends past delicious meals on your plate to positively impact the environment and farmers. This is because when you support Tree-Range® Farms you also support our partners like the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, Stacyville Poultry Processing, and local farmers growing Tree-Range® Chicken, like the Organic Compound. Who knew that buying a chicken could have such an impact? For more information, visit the Organic Compound

  • It has been a few years since Matt Wechsler of Hourglass Films came to us with the idea of a documentary to profile systems change and real paradigm shifts. As the name implies, THE JUNGLE documentary is a modern day take on Upton Sinclair's shocking 1906 novel, unraveling centuries of greed in America's meat industry and calling into question the profiteering of ecosystems. The film is hopeful too, revealing how indigenous knowledge may hold the key to creating an equitable food system for both people and the planet. It has been a pleasure working with Matt and his crew on this film, and we're so excited for the world premier at the Woodstock Film Festival on October 15th! The screening will take place at 7:00pm on Oct. 15th at Broken Wing Barn at White Feather Farm. Join Director Matt Wechsler, Executive Producer/Subject Mark Bittman, and our very own Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin for a post-screening converstation. Tickets are available at: https://lnkd.in/gb8nazT9

  • We are at RFSI with the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance again this year, what a joy to witness how this event has evolved so rapidly. RFSI is #Inspirational but centered on the real life of farm and capital operators. It is about #finance but not simply margins and profits. It is centered on #regenerative but not the common one-dimensional reflection of the topic. It incorporates #people, #food, and #planet, from the perspective of the power of natural systems to deliver health and well-being for everyone. RFSI is about #change, the ecological and social changes that define the starting point to move towards regenerative economies, and that lead to truly regenerative food systems. Thank you Regenerative Food Systems Investment for this lifetime partnership to influence change. Diane Christofore, Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin

  • Tree-Range® Farms: Truly Understanding Where Your Food Comes From It’s not often that you can visit the farms from which your food is grown, at Tree-Range® Farms, you can. Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin (Regi), one of 4 co-founders of Tree-Range® Farms, is redefining what it means to be a farmer. Growing up observing the interactions between plants, animals, and nature, Regi cultivated a profound understanding of #agriculture that would later propel a career of re-indigenizing #regenerative agriculture. At Tree-Range® Farms, we invite you to experience our mission of transparency and connection. Visit the farms, meet the farmers, and witness firsthand the transformative impact of Poultry-Centered Regenerative Agriculture (#PCRA). Salvatierra Farms, Regi's family farm, is a premier demonstration farm for the PCRA system in the Midwest. Salvatierra Farms inspires and educates other farmers, to foster a broader adoption of PCRA. This 75-acre, once conventional farmland, is being transformed to see the return of its natural ecosystem and invite wildlife back onto the land. Salvatierra is a great embodiment of Tree-Range® Farms' commitment to restoring the land and nourishing our communities. If you have to see it to believe it we’re happy to say that at Tree-Range® Farms there are always opportunities to see. Learn more about Salvatierra Farms, at salvatierrafarms.com. Connect with others in the PCRA ecosystem and stay updated on future opportunities to visit Tree-Range® Farmers, make sure you follow us Tree-Range® Farms, and our partner organization Regenerative Agriculture Alliance!
