Plant, Promote, and Protect the trees throughout the Upstate
About us
Our mission is to plant, promote, and protect trees in the South Carolina counties of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg. We plant trees in parks, schools, neighborhoods and greenspaces with an emphasis on sites that have little to no existing canopy. We promote the benefits of trees and best management practices. We protect trees by providing technical support and education to help inform policy and systems change.

Take a moment today to appreciate the wetlands near you—and consider how you can help preserve them for future generations. #TreesUpstate #WorldWetlandsDay

Outpacing the Nation! RunSignup released their national averages for race growth, showing that large races with over 5,000 participants grew by 5% this year. However, the TreesUpstate Turkey Day Run surpassed that with an incredible 18% growth! A huge thank you to everyone who supports our race—we couldn’t do it without you! #OutpacingTheNation #TurkeyDayRun

Have you ever noticed all the leaves on the forest floor? This is called leaf litter, and it’s crucial for animals like the Eastern Box Turtle. In South Carolina’s forests, leaves from trees like oak, hickory, and magnolia provide shelter and moisture, helping turtles stay cool and safe from predators. Preserving this natural layer supports local wildlife and their habitats! #DidYouKnow

I am thrilled to join the TreesUpstate board to plant, promote and protect more trees in the Upstate. When planted correctly, trees provide energy efficiency benefits for many years, habitats for wildlife, filter stormwater and give us cleaner air to breathe. A special thanks to Duke Energy and the Arbor Day Foundation for sponsoring 9 different tree giveaways in the upcoming months. The first will happen in Greer on Friday, January 31 at Turner Park. It's also important to pick the right tree for the right place (away from overhead powerlines) and to call 811 before you dig. More info can be found: https://lnkd.in/e2PBYf9R
