Excited to share this important research assessing human fecal contamination in U.S. stormwater and its implications for stormwater capture and reuse projects. This study synthesizes national data, employs advanced statistical analyses, and highlights reliable microbial indicators to refine risk-based guidelines for safe stormwater reuse. Congratulations to Jumana Aljafari and Sybil Sharvelle for leading this important work and a shoutout to authors Amos Branch, Michael Jahne, Adam Olivieri, Mazdak Arabi, jay garland and Raul Gonzalez for their collaborative efforts, as well as to Brian Pecson from our company, Trussell. Excited for American Water Works Association Water Quality Technology Conference next week! If you’re planning to attend, please check out talks by Eileen Idica and Brian Pecson at Wednesday’s session on new pathogen crediting frameworks--Bridging the Gap: Innovative Frameworks for Safe and Sustainable Direct Potable Reuse. Last week, Shane Trussell, Brian Pecson and Luciana Pereyra participated in the California Water Reuse Specialized Workshop on Direct Potable Reuse hosted at Orange County Water District. It's great to see the industry coming together to solve some of the biggest challenges with DPR. We're looking forward to continued collaboration.
