Absolute blast and true honor to have been trusted with doing the on-air mix for the Red Bull Batalla World Final 2024 that took place yesterday in Madrid's WiZink Center. Again with the always-awesome Fabian Finsterer on the other side of the mixing desk. Being able to deliver pristine sound for literally millions of viewers for a 4+ hour long live music show, 100% remote from our mixing studios in Salzburg for an event this size, both in Dolby Atmos and Stereo, is truly one of the highlights of my career. With dozens of audio channels, intercom and multiviewer transmitted with TVU Networks TVUOne devices via IP from the venue, mixed in 5.1.4 immersive audio on Avid Pro Tools HDX with Avid S6 mixing desk, using a second mirrored immersive mixing studio for true redundancy, this is on the absolute bleeding edge of what's technically possible these days. A huge shoutout to Geraint Thomas, Jonny McGuigan, and the entire BBC team for their dedication and creativity in delivering this transformative experience. Earlier this year, France Télévisions won the prestigious IBC - International Broadcasting Convention Innovation Award for their use of TVU Cloud solutions in the Olympic Torch Relay. These achievements reflect a pivotal moment for live broadcasting. Just one year ago, many broadcasters wondered: Is the cloud ready for the biggest events? This year, projects like these proved that the cloud isn’t just ready—it’s a catalyst for reimagining what live content can be.
