Long Island-Connecticut Airways (LiCon) was the first airline to serve HVN. Beginning operations on November 10, 1933, LiCon connected New Haven to New York, Newark, Bridgeport, Providence, and Atlantic City. The airline offered both passenger and airmail services until 1934. Pictured: Gussy Tweed Hannan and pilot (circa 1933), disembarking from a Travel-Air 6000 — the aircraft that carried LiCon’s maiden flight to the then-New Haven Municipal Airport. Only 150 of these aircraft were ever made.

We are incredibly grateful for our friends, partners, and passengers who continue to support us as we unlock new opportunities and new possibilities with every destination. Much like our state's economy, population, employment, and visitation, airlines like Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways™, JetBlue, and Spirit Airlines are expanding here, adding routes to and from Bradley International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). These markets were previously underserved as travelers often drove to Boston or New York, but no longer!
