  • A fantastic project to be involved in .. and one that will create more accessible and inclusive public transport for Melbourne !

We’re thrilled to announce that we have been highly commended by International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Australasia, for a 2024 Core Value Award in Infrastructure (Planning and Design) for our public engagement work on Victoria’s latest trains and trams. This recognition celebrates our collaborative efforts with manufacturer Alstom and Capire Consulting Group, further supported by Ability Works Australia Ltd and Twenty Percent Disability Inclusion Advisory in facilitating best-practice engagement on the design of the new X’Trapolis 2.0 trains and G Class trams. This engagement, saw over 2,500 participants participants come through our two life-size mock-ups, leading to dozens of design changes across both our projects. Our approach focused on user testing and universal design methods, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all passengers. This approach exemplifies how diverse lived experiences and stakeholder feedback can drive meaningful improvements in public transport. A huge thank you to everyone who leant their time and expertise to our engagement programs, along with the facilitators, community engagement practitioners, designers, engineers, and policy makers who made this achievement possible. Together, we’ve set a new standard for inclusive and responsive public transport design in Victoria.
