Check out this awesome #UFCOTA alumni feature highlighting Austin Stanbury from our client company Augmented Info Systems! 🎉
In celebration of the 7th annual Gator Nation Giving Day, we're featuring "Gator Giving Spotlights" from current students and #UFCOTA alumni who shared stories about how the support and mentorship they received from the #GatorNation shaped their experiences at the University of Florida, and what they're up to now. --- 📣 #AllForTheGators COTA Alum Spotlight: Austin Stanbury, UF Digital Worlds Institute. Alum: UF Digital Worlds Institute Degree: MiDAS (Masters in Digital Arts and Sciences) Get to know Austin: “I was a Masters student in the Digital Worlds MiDAS program. With COTA, I obtained grant funding for our project, CovidReflections, which went on to be featured in Tokyo. I later became an adjunct lecturer at Digital Worlds while developing my startup at UF Innovate. Developing virtual reality software for neurodiverse individuals has been incredibly touching. We work with clients who treat individuals that have difficulty navigating their daily lives. Our work in VR helped them to be more engaged and calmer. Hearing the excited and heartfelt stories of caretakers working with these individuals made us realize how much of a difference our work in the arts could make in people’s lives. The arts are central to our culture. They support everything we do, and it is crucial that we continue to work with students who desire to spend a lifetime exploring the good and the beautiful through art. It is one of the highest callings in human life.” Austin would like to #StandUpAndHoller 👔🐊 for a Digital Worlds professor who has had a lifelong impact on him: “Dr. Hyo Kang left a lifelong imprint on us as we navigated graduate school and went on to form our careers. We are forever indebted to her wisdom and kindness. She served as the model for who we wanted to be as young students, and continues to be an inspiration."

Our resident client Canaery is partnering with a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) lab to develop neural implants that decode what dogs and rats smell, potentially transforming them into multi-purpose super detectors. This amazing technology could help detect everything from explosives to diseases, and anyone could use it, no special training needed In collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Canaery has also developed an advanced nose-computer interface (NCI) that enhances scent detection animals' ability to simultaneously identify contraband, diseases, and more. We are so proud of this team! 🎉 Read more here: 1️⃣: https://lnkd.in/e4gXzvyk 2️⃣: https://lnkd.in/eTnP5xBh #UFnews
