This Veterans Day, we honor and salute those who have served our country in the United States Military. At UGI, we have many veterans among us as colleagues, including some who still actively serve. Many of our veterans are members of the UGI Veteran Employee Team (VET), an employee resource group that brings together military veteran employees and supporters to strengthen UGI and positively impact the communities in which we work. Over the last few months, our VET chapters raised money to benefit organizations and fundraisers such as Stop Soldier Suicide, Miles for MilitaryShare, and Wreaths Across America. In addition, to acknowledge our UGI veterans, a recognition wall at our Learning Center serves as a visible tribute and way to say thank you to UGI veterans for their service and sacrifice to preserve our freedoms. Thank you to all veterans who have served in the armed forces. We greatly appreciate the sacrifices you have made for our country.

As we close out the month of October, we thank our employees who came together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️ In the United States, according to the American Cancer Society, over 300,000 women have been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2024. On average, breast cancer will affect 1 in 8 women at some point in their life. In October, the UGI Women’s Impact Network (WIN), which is an employee resource group that aims to inspire women and offer professional and personal development opportunities, held “Pink Out” events across the company. At various office locations, pink t-shirts were sold, with proceeds benefitting American Cancer Society, The Gathering Place East & West and Paint the Planet Pink. Collectively through the t-shirt sales and the generosity of our employees from UGI Utilities, Inc., UGI Energy Services, AmeriGas, and UGI Corporation, over $7,000 was raised in support of breast cancer research. In addition, employees from UGI Utilities participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk events at City Island in Harrisburg and ArtsQuest in Bethlehem as part of our UGI Energizers Teams. We thank every employee for their support in raising funds and awareness! #EnergyToDoMore #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

Earlier this month, UGI Utilities held the 2024 Operations & Technology Expo at our Learning Center in Reading, PA. Over this two-day event, more than 300 employees walked through the Learning Center to speak with over 40 vendors about the latest trends in the industry, and how to enhance operations and safety. Each of the labs within the Learning Center were lined with vendor displays, including items used daily by UGI field employees, such as pipes and fittings, safety clothing, and more. Thank you to all of the vendors who attended this event to share your technologies with our employees! #EnergyToDoMore

Earlier this week, UGI employee Brandon Rudolph, Sr Supervisor Operations from our Lancaster office, represented UGI Utilities on a Careers in Energy panel at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, moderated by Commissioner Katie Zerfuss of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Brandon, a Thaddeus Stevens College alumnus, along with panelists from other utility companies, spoke to high school and college students on the importance of energy and utility jobs. “Being able to share my story with future energy career workers was pretty incredible,” said Brandon. “I enjoyed learning that, although every panelist had their own unique paths to get where we are, we all experience the same joy and hardships along the way. I hope there are future opportunities to share our stories with others.” Thank you, Brandon for representing UGI Utilities! #EnergyToDoMore #FuelingOurFuture

Last month, UGI’s Don Brominski attended the Marcellus Shale Coalition SHALE INSIGHT® Conference in Erie, PA. Don was part of a panel discussion “Natural Gas: Supporting and Growing the Residential, Commercial and Industrial Markets.” This session explored the natural gas opportunities to expand residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Don spoke about UGI Utilities’ customer growth as a result of the development of the Marcellus Shale industry. On average, UGI adds approximately 10,000 customers per year over the last few years. Thank you, Don, for representing UGI Utilities and showing how natural gas is one of the safest, most reliable, affordable and sustainable fuel sources available and how vital it is to invest in energy solutions to meet increased demand.
