“Our mission is simple: we exist to provide access to care,” says Summer Park, DNP, FNP-BC, the mobile health unit’s lead practitioner and operations manager. The clinic-on-wheels is hitting the road in Peoria County to reach people in Peoria County, where Park lives. “It’s unique and allowing us to infiltrate community spaces that cannot obtain the health care they desperately need,” she says. Give today. Select UIC Mobile Health and Wellness Fund from the drop-down menu. https://loom.ly/sMyixSI #GivingTuesday #UICTogether

It's honey harvest time! 🍯 Today, joined by our partners from UI Health, DispatchHealth, Urban Autism Solutions, and Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, the IMD Commission hosted a honey harvest workshop. Earlier this year, in partnership with UI Health, we launched an urban beekeeping initiative with Alvéole and installed a hive at one of our buildings. The bees have been busy pollinating local gardens and farms for months making IMD honey that will now be bottled. Keep an eye out for a jar of IMD honey at your next meeting or event. 🐝 To learn more, visit our MyHive page at ➡️ imdchi.co/buzz24

  • During last month’s #RespiratoryCareWeek, our team of respiratory therapists held their annual award ceremony to recognize staff who put patients first in everything they do. These providers were nominated by their patients, leaders, and teammates for their excellence in caring for patients of every age with difficulty breathing. Congratulations to Marquita Reed and Hung Tran, recipients of this year’s “Respiratory Service Excellence Award,” and our “Star Therapist of the Year” Nadia Perez!
