“Ukrainian startups are succeeding in these war conditions–can you imagine what they will do outside of these conditions?" Spoken during our first panel discussion of the launch event, this statement by Anastasiia Kravchenko-Uhrekhelidze was a core theme of the evening, shedding light on the resilience of Ukrainian entrepreneurs and their incredible growth potential. The panel focused on giving an 'Überblick' of the startup ecosystem in the country. Moderated by Inna Nelles (Borzylo), the panel featured insights from: 👉 Iryna Novikova, Ph.D, TechUkraine 👉 Olga Trofymova, Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster 👉Anastasiia Kravchenko-Uhrekhelidze, Ukrainian Startup Fund They discussed investments, market trends, key sectors and more. The ecosystem is quite advanced. Ukraine is already the origin of many unicorns like GitLab and Grammarly, and others who have Ukrainian roots like Revolut. As for next Ukraine unicorns, panelists predict they would come from the rapidly expanding AI sector and its potential for fintech and robotics among other industries. Another sector to watch is Agritech. With shortage of tradeways and supply chain disturbances, there is a lot of innovation on the rise to solve the problem of grain delivery. There is also a lot of potential in terms of collaboration between Berlin and Kyiv: 👉 Ukraine offers a lot of incentives for foreign investments 👉 Ukraine also offers incentives for businesses (private entrepreneurs tax laws, corporate tax rates, among others) 👉 According to Olga, German companies with manufacturing plants operating locally in Ukraine have the best KPIs in the country compared to their other locations 👉 Iryna highlighted that mental health startups is another sector where Berlin is strong and where they could collaborate with Kyiv startups in the sector The panel ended on an important note, spoken by Olga Trofymova: “We should not wait for our victory. 🚗 Driving Innovation and Growth in Ukraine’s Automotive Sector!   On November 25, the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP), in partnership with the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster, hosted the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum. 🌍   This pivotal event brought together around 100 participants, including European partners and Ukrainian industry leaders. Together, we explored key challenges, emerging trends, and inspiring success stories in the automotive and mobility sectors. Discussions centered on fostering investments and strengthening cooperation between manufacturers. USAID CEP team presented its ongoing support initiatives, highlighting opportunities for manufacturers to collaborate with CEP projects and benefit from workforce development programs that provide skilled talent.   The forum set the stage for tangible outcomes—new partnerships, increased production, and a boost in investments that will drive Ukraine’s economic resilience and innovation forward.

In the challenging times of uncertainty and ongoing war, we continue to embrace the present, making the most of every opportunity that arises. The Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum 2024, organized by Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster, together with the USAID, has gathered more than a hundred participants from the automotive industry. Petro Markiv, our Country Manager, together with Nadya Shaban, the Head of HR, had the privilege of visiting the Forum and taking part in the panel discussion, diving deeply into the challenges, success stories, and expectations of the automotive sector in Ukraine. Our Country Manager had shared valuable insights on navigating the automotive business in Ukraine. His discussion on the importance of social programs was especially moving, highlighting the opening of a new rehabilitation center for veterans and their families in Kolomyia and the plan of opening one more in Stryi, is an incredible step forward in supporting our company`s key values. The resilience and dedication of our team were highly appreciated and valued by «The Best Performing Country 2023» Award, that, without a doubt, is a true testament to our strength and commitment. Shaping the Future Amidst Challenges: Reflections from the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum 2024 Lviv, 25.11.2024: Despite the challenging times and the immense difficulties brought by the ongoing war, I had the privilege of attending an extraordinary event personally on site – the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum 2024 in Lviv. It was truly inspiring to witness the unwavering commitment and forward-thinking mindset of Ukraine’s automotive and mobility sector as it works tirelessly to create new opportunities and perspectives for the future. As a speaker, I had the honor of presenting my talk, “Race to the Top: Who Will Be the First German Investor to Harness Ukraine’s Post-War Advantages?” My goal was to highlight Ukraine’s immense potential for German investors and to outline pathways for successful collaboration in the post-war era. Equally important was addressing the critical steps Ukraine must take to ensure that international investors feel confident in establishing their production capacities within the country. A heartfelt thank you to Olga Trofymova and the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster, and all participants for the opportunity to be part of this remarkable forum. Yesterday, I had a pleasure to take part in a very interesting roundtable discussion titled "The Role of Ecosystems in Developing the Automotive & Mobility Sector and Attracting Investment" during the Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Forum 2024 held in Lviv by Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster. On behalf of Stowarzyszenie Dystrybutorów i Producentów Części Motoryzacyjnych (SDCM) I shared some insights on the way the Polish automotive sector has gone in order to achieve its current status.
