The Unidas Women’s Network was launched in 2019 and it is under the patronage of the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. It brings together women in Latin America, the Caribbean (LAC) and Germany with the aim to strengthen their commitment towards equality and women’s rights. Unidas is also part of and contributes to Germany‘s feminist foreign policy. Currently it comprises over 350 members.

Their publication, "Care and Public Policies," explores the essential, yet often overlooked, role of care work across Latin America. It highlights the need for inclusive public policies that address the inequalities within this vital sector. This document provides insights from five key studies that examine diverse aspects of care in Latin America—from labor rights for domestic caregivers in Argentina to community-based childcare in Uruguay, and the resilience of ethnic-community care practices in Colombia.
