As we begin the #16Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, I am reminded of the immense courage and resilience of survivors, advocates, and communities who speak out against violence and injustice. This campaign, which runs from today the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25 to Human Rights Day on December 10, is an urgent call for all of us—leaders, partners, and community members—to unite in eradicating gender-based violence in all its forms. In East Asia and the Pacific, we see women and girls face unique challenges, often exacerbated by crises, climate change, and social inequalities. At UNOPS, we are committed to strengthening resilient infrastructure and delivering vital services that help create safe, inclusive spaces for all. Our projects, whether focused on healthcare, climate action, or energy transformation, are built on the belief that empowering women and promoting equality is essential to sustainable development. Together, let’s use our voices to stand against discrimination, protect survivors, and build a world where everyone, regardless of gender, can live free from violence and fear. #NoExcuse

From November 25 to December 10, we unite with the global community to end violence against women and girls. This year’s theme, “Towards 30 Years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: UNITE to End Violence Against Women and Girls,” calls for action, accountability, and increased support to eradicate this pervasive human rights violation. 🔸 Did you know?
