📢 The #UNGA adopts new Industrial Development Cooperation Resolution! 🌐 Every two years, all Member States of the United Nations negotiate the resolution within the in the Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee), based on the report on industrial development cooperation prepared by #UNIDO DG Gerd Müller and transmitted by #UNSG António Guterres. The new resolution reaffirms UNIDO’s mandate, provides fresh guidance and calls upon the Organization to take concrete action. 📄 In addition to the G77 + China, the resolution was co-sponsored by #Austria, #Germany and #Portugal. 👉 Highlights from the resolution include: ✅ Appreciation of UNIDO’s thematic priorities – #endinghunger, fostering #sustainable #supplychains, and speeding up #climateaction. ✅ UNIDO to contribute to the implementation of the outcome documents of #LDC5, #SIDS4, and #LLDC3. ✅ UNIDO to continue to support the periodic reviews of #SDG9 by the #HLPF. ✅ Calls for a Fourth Industrial Development Decade for Africa #IDDA4. ✅ UNIDO to contribute to #FFD4 and #WSSD2. 🌱 UNIDO stands ready to deliver on its mandates and contribute to a sustainable future!
