The UKEV Forum 2024 will kick off on Monday, 16th with a dedicated ECR Day. This day will provide a valuable opportunity for early-career researchers and students to learn from inspiring speakers with diverse scientific career paths. While this first day is primarily aimed at ECRs, it will also benefit PIs and all delegates, as we will debate on the topic of research integrity with Stacey Wagstaff and research burnout with Christina Lord CPC ELI-MP. We are glad so many of you are registering to join #UKEV2024 forum in December, in what it will likely to be a very snowy and Christmassy time here in Newcastle! This year gala dinner will be hosted in one of the most interesting building of the city, the Civic Centre. 🏰 The building was designed by George Kenyon and commissioned in 1967. The style, of brutalist and modernist influence, differs from the Victorian character found throughout the city. It is full of symbolism, outside and inside, like the 12 seahorses at the top of the tower, a reminder of the city port nature. On the side of the main entrance, a gigantic bronze sculpture of the Tyne as River God welcomes and fascinates visitors approaching the building. 🎄 The warm and festive dinner will be inside one of their great halls and we won't spoiler more than this for now!
